Wouldn't be surprised, you just know they will have carte blanche to do what they want,we will be cast as the bad guys of course.

After one of our players gets a leg break they'll give it a 10 second replay and it never be heard again. Probably be reported as deserved for our 'dirty behaviour'. Yet how many of these serious injuries have we had in the last decade or so.

I can't remember how long the national mourning went on for VVD's accidentally twisted knee but it seemed like 2 months. The media are a joke they pander to the biggest fanbases by saying things they hope will keep them subscribing or pick up new ones.

The last derby was a throw back to Derbies of the past when both sides went hell for leather. Lots of snide tackles from both sides and I personally can't justify Pickford or Richarlisons tackles because they were intent on hurting people, sorry to say it like but they were (Richy in particular). They do it all the time though so the hypocrisy wound me up most. The ref will have to be on his game because they could well turn this into a bloodbath especially if they go behind or can't break us down. Mane and Robertson being the ones to watch out for.

I'd play Olsen anyway, throwing Pickford in when your rotating the two is stupid in my opinion.

I'm dreading it. I'd take a boring nil nil and no injuries to our players right now.

Well that's just absolute rubbish. Call it whatever you want but "intent on hurting" VvD? That's like a line straight from RAWK. He's an idiot, reactionary, careless, etc. I don't know if Pickford ever has any "intent" to do anything in his mind.

I reckon Everton would batter them in a free for all straightener, Ben Godfrey would put half of them to Bo Bose on his own

hish hish, hish hish hish, hish, hish hish

Might struggle taking on Firmino like, heard he’s got a deadly right.

Do not buy into the Pickford/ St Virgil tackle being intentional, unless you mean St Virgil was going in with intent on Pickford after showing previous form against DCL and James. Pickford went for the ball and St Virgil came in from an offside position.

It annoys me that the narrative that PIckford was guilty of anything other than clumsiness is so engrained now.

Richy's tackle was poor though and reckless. I have no problems in that being called out. It could hurt a player and leave us down a man.

The rs will get away with at least 2 reckless challenges during the match that would have seen us see red cards. That's my prediction. They are cloggers running a PED based game that is now failing them. I hope they go out with a bang with their dangerous fouling against someone else than us.

Have to disagree gents. Pickfords was reckless, even I winced watching it back. It's no surprise that van dike i out for the season as a result. It doesn't help that I can't stand Pickford and if it was Allen who had done similar I'd defend it more but you are lying to yourself if you don't think Pickfords challenge was reckless. He was lucky not to have given away a penalty and seen us down to 10 men. I doubt many of you would defend him for being the reason we went on and lost if that happened. The lads a clown.

The media will already have their excuses made for them.
For Virgil.
Payback time.
Innocuous tackle.
Hurt himself when falling.
Ran into Hendo’s elbow.
Slipped on robbo’s mouth foam.

Pickford's was no way intentional.

Pickford coming out spreading legs and arms to make sure they are covering most of the goal is what most keepers would do to avert a shot or cross reaching it's target. The worst you could say is he misjudged the distance to the ball and therefore got closer to the player than he intended. When you look at the still shot, St. Virgil has his leg stretched and planted, this is what did the damage, if his leg was in the air he would have probably only needed the magic sponge to continue playing.

Pickford is a mad bell end and acted that way as normal but you said he’s intent on hurting people and that’s just not fair.

Just seemed that way. He is thick as two planks and the way he leapt didn't sit right with me, it should have been a sending off especially next to some of the other decisions this season. Just an opinion. I don't like him at all.

Utter tosh

If I were Carlo, I would set us up with specific instructions to kick Robertson, Henderson, Thiago and Salah to pieces. I'd tell the starting eleven to just take turns on them for the entire game.

When the inevitable happens in the post-match interview and the media go nuts at us, I would simply say:

"This reaction is exactly what we got from you lot last time, when we did nothing wrong. So I told the players that they are going to get crucified by you lot regardless of what the truth may be, so they may as well go and do something worth being crucified for. I hope you can now all tell the difference."

In all seriousness though, they (the RS) are all going to be gunning for trouble from the first minute and we're going to see a few of our lads chopped down. I just hope that either the ref clamps down on it straight away or, failing that, we just fight fire with fire.
Hope Richie keeps his balance.

No .I don't see it that way St virgil was going down before the clash and a goalkeeper has the right to defend .I cannot stand this media bias but from a forum member it is unacceptable mainly because it is not correct .
