Have to disagree gents. Pickfords was reckless, even I winced watching it back. It's no surprise that van dike i out for the season as a result. It doesn't help that I can't stand Pickford and if it was Allen who had done similar I'd defend it more but you are lying to yourself if you don't think Pickfords challenge was reckless. He was lucky not to have given away a penalty and seen us down to 10 men. I doubt many of you would defend him for being the reason we went on and lost if that happened. The lads a clown.

He was just trying to save the ball, VVD landing awkwardly was the problem.

No intent,no malice just a keeper doing his job.

So I am hearing that a player got injured in the last Derby some one Van Dyke?

so my question is this,

How many injuries and red cards are we going to receive during the Derby?

I think personally we get 1 red and 2 injuries

I agree
We are very likely to play really well - well enough to win - and then get done by provocation and injuries, because we're still a new team and haven't yet got that steel yet to handle stress and adversity (still a new team), and also don't have a captain who can braverly stand up for us. Oh well! It'll be fun.

No .I don't see it that way St virgil was going down before the clash and a goalkeeper has the right to defend .I cannot stand this media bias but from a forum member it is unacceptable mainly because it is not correct .

Pickford made a bad tackle but anyone saying he deliberately meant to injure him hasn't a clue.

Feels like we've been over this a lot
Fair enough lads, not after disagreeing with you, its just how it seemed from what I saw. I don't really care all that much as long as we don't lose tomorrow and don't lose any players.

It was a penalty if he was onside he wasn't, it was a poor choice of goalkeeping if he came earlier and cleared the ball then D RIP VD had clattered him no one would be whining 6 months later about a 50/50 tackle gone wrong.
Imagine telling everyone you are greatest side in the world only to whine when you lose a defender who smashes the ball up the pitch.

It should have been a red card absolutely, but there are extremely few instances in football of someone deliberately setting out to cause a serious injury.

We need to be careful tomorrow and stay on our feet in the tackle because there will be a lot of scrutiny on us.

RS will be out for blood. Personally I hope we go proper dark arts on them. Go down under every challenge. Cry to the ref at every opportunity. Scream in pain at any tackle.

Make their blood boil.

I don’t agree one bit. Big Virg thought he was the Liverpool hard case, he’d already had DCL and James in the first 5 minutes, then he was about to snap Pickford with his raised studs but came a cropper, tough titty Mr, you live by the sword

Just seemed that way. He is thick as two planks and the way he leapt didn't sit right with me, it should have been a sending off especially next to some of the other decisions this season. Just an opinion. I don't like him at all.

Appears to me Klopp grinds his players into the ground every single day no surprise you have a lot of injuries...

He again is trying to influence the referee before the game with his mind games, just hope it backfires & the ref is wise to his antics...

hopefully if the super hard redmen don’t fly into tackles within the first 5 minutes like they did in the last derby there will be no need for the blues to sort them out

The last derby was a throw back to Derbies of the past when both sides went hell for leather. Lots of snide tackles from both sides and I personally can't justify Pickford or Richarlisons tackles because they were intent on hurting people, sorry to say it like but they were (Richy in particular). They do it all the time though so the hypocrisy wound me up most. The ref will have to be on his game because they could well turn this into a bloodbath especially if they go behind or can't break us down. Mane and Robertson being the ones to watch out for.

I'd play Olsen anyway, throwing Pickford in when your rotating the two is stupid in my opinion.

I'm dreading it. I'd take a boring nil nil and no injuries to our players right now.
What about Saint Virgil going in twice in twice in the first 5 to deliberately injure players and succeeding?

I was thinking two red cards, one of them a straight red.

Probably one serious injury and one or two where a player misses a few games.

I think we'll get booted off the park, at least one stamp that receives no action taken.

I imagine whether it's a goal scored, the result or an injured player the media will claim it 'revenge' or 'justice'.

I hope I'm hugely wrong and we stuff them, then the narrative is how well we played.
