Osvaldo is a top signing for Southampton. It's gonna be really tough this year - but we're looking decent. We just really need another midfielder! As good as Barkley was yesterday, he shouldn't be relied upon (or burdened) to provide our creativity in midfield.

Striker... you're forgetting a striker.

Jelavic has scored about five league goals in a year, Kone is a complete disaster and Anichebe is useless.

We need somebody to put the ball in the back of the net... it's going to be a very, very frustrating season.

How can you say Kone's a disaster when he's not started a competitive game yet?

Are you about 12? As you only seem to post childish extremes

I'm available....I have modest wage demands, I have an outrageous beard, I'm fit as a butchers dog, and I know how to stick it in the net, and my goal celebrations are the stuff of legend.

Out of all the midfield he was the one looking to collect off of the back four and start to build attacks. He seemed pretty disciplined sitting in there. Yes he made one or two dodgy passes but overall he was nowhere near as bad as some are making out.

Whether he can do it consistently over a season i do not know, but he is good back-up when we need him

Good post mate. Osman played alright yesterday and is a good squad player. However, I don't think he is good enough defensively to play cm, he needs to play higher up the pitch.

The Norwich match thread was shameful....But very, very GOT. And it's why I keep coming back to this forum.
 
Chantome wasn't in the PSG squad again - he must be moving and id be surprised if they wouldn't let him go on loan. He'd be ideal sitting deep, allowing Fellaini to be box to box and Barkley further ahead. Gibson and Osman as back up.
Get Moses in as well and we'd be looking good
 
Whoever mentioned Gareth Barry, they are spot on. He would be perfect for us.

And for all those who doubt it, I would cite just one player.

All the arl4rses will get it. You younger lids will have to look him up.
