He can play a few different positions quite well from what I've seen. He seems intelligent and composed on the ball. But I don't think he would be a key player for us and I don't think he'd add enough to be our joint record signing. I don't think he's worth any more than about £7m.

I don't think he'd be a bad player for us but at no more than 10m. Plus your losing around 10 goals from midfield with felli an I can't see him scoring that many so we'd need to buy a goal scoring midfielder as well. Another striker would be nice too. If we could add them 3 players for felli it wouldn't look such a bad deal

I'm not sure he'd get in our starting XI. If we decided to play with only one defensive midfielder, presuming that Fellaini left, then Gibson would get the shout. There's no way that we could spend so much on a squad man.

There are decent defensive-minded midfielders around that we could pick up cheaply or even for free. If we've got £15m to spend we could buy a high-quality forward with it.

McCarthy is a good player...he's no Roy keane but he's also no cattermole..... A player is worth what a club will pa for him..... I can see us paying around 12 million for the lad...which seems a lot but I think if he signs he will become a very important player for the team.
