Who do you think is a realistic target for us though? You seem to just shoot everyone else's opinions down without offering anything yourself.

I did not say Bent is a bad shout actually. I just think we can't afford to spend big money on aging players.

For a CM? I want Fer to sign for Everton.

We are not that small time are we. Jordi Gomez? I rather Barkley plays.

I'm just anticipating his arrival based on the fact he's taken him to Swansea and then Wigan, and reading around a little bit it seems Martinez didn't think the Wigan supporters understood the value he was to the team. If he's dirt cheap I wouldn't dismiss the notion of him turning up here.

I think there's a contractual issue over Bent tbh, as they paid £18m for him but with increments that could reach £24m. I wondered if one of the reasons for his continued absence last season (aside from the fall out with Lambert) was financially driven? if so, they've got to let him go & they'll have to be flexible with the fee if the 'word' has got out.

lets get the word out. has he completely disappeared from England radar. might make him even more of a bargain if he pushing for that. will be looking for a guarantee of first team football too so if he has been watching jelavic

Alcaraz will be a good signing to have on the bench, he is free, so no initial outlay, and his wages will be low> He is a solid defender, and probably one of their best defenders in 2011-2012, last season injury took him out of the game for the essential part of Wigan's season, It could be worse boys, it could be Gary Caldwell.

Danny Simpson is a squad player, if he is free, he is worth having in the squad he is never going to be a first teamer, but he can play either right or left or central midfield at a push. For free, I would take him on a year by year contract.

Darren Bent is a natural Goal scorer, he has attitude issues which has hindered his career, for 6 Million quid we will get one season of 20 goals, and he will throw his toys out of the pram. I would rather see us spend a bit more money and have a punt on Jordan Rhodes.

Jordi Gomez again would be a squad player, I don't think he is good enough for us, but would bulk out the squad a bit. if he signs I wont complain, but I wouldn't go out my way to support the signature.

From wigan, we should look to get the Mcarthur, Maloney and MacMananman that is all.

Hetinga should be sold, just to get his wages off the books, and I would rather see felli go over Baines.

aren't we assuming an attitude problem or is there something else other than the Villa fall out, whch could be as much the clubs fault. and it has meant he has been dropped, he hasn't sulked when given the chance to play

For a player of his ability not to play as many games as he could, suggests that the guy has a attitude issue, to move from club to club within 1 or 2 season also gives that suggestion. I think he is one of the best English strikers for a long time, and I would love for him to come to everton if he can give us what he potentially has. the worry would be we pay 6 million, he is amazing and can miss a goal, then the next season he turns in to Darren Bent of Charlton, Tottingham, sunderland and villa. you have to question the attitude of a man that has moved as many times as he has to be a bit part play in the second season of all the clubs he has played for

Personally always been a fan of "The Dazzler". Also always thought of him as someone that would want to prove people who doubted him to be wrong (Redknapp). If we could get him for six million it's an absolute no brainer for me. Surely he fancies his England chances ahead of Welbeck, Defoe, Carroll and Sturridge etc?

Some of these names don't even make any sense, especially Simpson.

We have Coleman, Stones and Hibbert for right back, how many more do we need?

I can understand somebody like Alcaraz being an attraction due to him being free and on a back up, other clubs in for him though apparently, and if Heitinga goes I would much rather we got Lescott back if there is a chance of that.

Surely any transfer funds need to go on either strikers, or if Fellaini is going a replacement for him too.

The nucleus of a very good side is still there, it just needs a bit of tinkering.

maybe suggests it, but could also suggest he has been underrated and is the first player people look to make a profit on. lots managers don't like players who just grab goals and don't look to do it all over the pitch. has he openly pushed for transfers?
