The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

They can package costs in such broad categories that they are meaningless - the club accounts aren't for detailed breakdown of what gets spent on what. There's been a 40% increase in OOC in the last 7 years without explanation as to why it's happened.

How you can doubt another way of creatively hiding what's going on is possible is beyond me. It's very naive.

Sorry Dave, this is where I draw the line mate.

I want Kenwright & Co gone, as they add nothing but (at best) staid stability. However, chucking round accusations of financial impropriety without a shred of evidence to back that up is bang out of order imo.

You're also implicating the auditors in your conspiracy theory btw, as they'd have to be complicit to excuse the lack of credible invoices that cover the cash that you're suggesting is being lifted.

It's not financial 'impropriety' it's creative accountancy. I dont know where it goes. I'm not suggesting it goes in anyone's pocket.

Let me ask you: do you really buy 'Other Operating Costs' as a real explanation as to how a quarter of Everton's revenue is spent without knowing what goes into it? It's very trusting of you if you do.

It was out of the blue, yes, but the papers were still reporting it before anything became official.

They weren't.

David Moyes the poster on here hit us with both Mirallas & Fer before anyone heard there names anywhere. The lad from Brugge as well.

Mirallas dragged on a bit but we already had it all sorted bar a few bits when the papers got it.

Yes you are - by definition, that's exactly what you're suggesting.

As you're saying that they make money 'disappear', if it's not a legitimate expense of the business then that's fraudulent, not 'creative' accountancy.

I love with sky/the papers with Spurs and the RS its always "keeping bale/suarez is a must" but with us its "best to sell felli/baines and replace with ****e" absolute Redcoat criminals these journalists are not one shred of football knowledge between them

The auditors wouldn't be implicated, they sign off accounting. It is the accounting headings that are the issue. I believe that the other operating costs are the financial payments for outstanding debts, interests etc, because they were done through offshore trusts and high interest debt that to have them on full display would make a lot of creditors and interested parties very nervous, including a section of supporters.

Looks like Defoe is up for sale, not bothered if he's 30 he's better than everything we've got up front. Wouldn't mind having him here.

reporting it when the clubs have openly expressed interest and are negotiating is the only time the papers will get it right, even then they will probably add a few bits of nonsense on top. I am a mad gambler and the only thing I would not touch is the markets on players/managers. completely manipulated. complete nonsense. the one bit of business that there is any official confirmation of is Alcaraz and you cant bet on that. its fun guessing as you can tell by length of this thread, but not a shred of it is anything other than that. the media is just like this thread except they get salaries and do less research
