The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Decent back up, but I'm not thrilled about bringing in a 30 year old when we have two teenagers dying to be played there.

Unfair on Martinez that he's getting the backlash of ten years of Moyes ignoring the youth but there it is.

To be fair I think GK and CB are the only positions where players get better as they get older. RB and LB you can wing it a little more with an inexperienced player, anywhere else on the field there's even less pressure/responsibility.

Agree with others, our young centre backs should be out on constant loan getting this game time and experience.

Oh please, so you reckon they'll get the auditors (lol) to create bogus headings to hide imaginary expenditure?

Pack it in lad ffs.

Its the Davek way, its a massive conspiracy with Kenwright at the helm of the elaborate plan.

People will not let this 'OOC', its a fanatical conspiracy theory; the same way they cannot understand the Finch Farm deal. Its a case of 2+2=566264

I dunno, our back 4 was looking pretty damned good this spring.

I can't say I'd be too unhappy about it remaining the same.

If our back four starts the season as it finished the last I'd be happy. Another top CB however to partner Jags would be a great move. Having Distin as back up would show we have strength in depth for once.

Sky write an article on what club's need what if they want to achieve their ambitions and the Everton read is a joke. They suggested selling Fellaini, then going out to 'raid' Wigan of McManaman, McCarthy and Kone. They also suggested Jori Gomez as a possible signing.

The players we're being linked to at the moment are shocking. From Negredo, Fer, Chadli etc to McManaman, Kone and Alcaraz. Wow.

Why fume over players we are only linked with, it's pointless.

They can package costs in such broad categories that they are meaningless - the club accounts aren't for detailed breakdown of what gets spent on what. There's been a 40% increase in OOC in the last 7 years without explanation as to why it's happened.

How you can doubt another way of creatively hiding what's going on is possible is beyond me. It's very naive.

Excellent articulate and correct explanation. The 'raison d'etre' for many Evertonians seems to be a never ending quest to find negatives about their club. The new TV deal is a MASSIVE POSITIVE. It is good for Everton.

Also good for every other team in the premiership. It's our own commercial revenues we have to improve, not keep relying on the TV money.

The majority of this money will go on new contracts ( Higher wages ) the same as the last massive increase in 2007. Prices for UK players will increase as well.

There is something behind links though. The process before signing a player will be constant links. Plus, i'll be very surprised if we don't sign some of those we are being linked with.

When we signed Fellaini we weren't linked with him at all, and we should all know from experience that every transfer window we get linked with players we don't end up signing.

All of the sh1t players we're currently being linked with play for Wigan. It's not a conspiracy, it's just an easy link to make when the ex-Wigan manager has just taken over, and Wigan got relegated last season. The first thing that happened when Moyes left was that the papers starting writing up stories about him taking Baines and Fellaini with him.

It's fine to get excited about paper talk, but pointless to draw conclusions before any deals have been done.

can't see how this is true. I would say I haven't heard of 90 per cent of our signings before they happen. equally the one sale few people saw coming was Rodwell. lots of stats on this but the rumours in most papers are less than one in four accurate. I would reckon the ones without quotes from clubs or players, as most of ours have been including the loss of fellaini, jags, baines we have seen for three to four years now, are almost always wrong. Manchester and London clubs will feel out whether a club will sell, or a player is considering a move by feeding info and this would generally explain the one in four or five they get right. I think links/rumours that have come out of actual press from the two clubs is different but they prob count those as successful rumours.

the papers need sales, the bookmakers need bets. most links can be explained with that.

Don't believe this at all.

We weren't linked with Mirallas anywhere for example. With Everton, under Moyes at least, it was nearly always out of the blue.

But more importantly, it is the players on the pitch that really determine the state of the club. Paying off 10 million pound in debt is of little use if it sees you drop 5 places down the league; you end up getting less prize money and it becomes even more difficult to attract top players in the future.

All I want is for people to acknowledge that THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE, and that our revenue is expected to increase by at least 30million pound a year, and that the extra revenue is going to have to be spent one way or another.

I'm not being moody here by the way, just putting my point across.

And im not being moody, im just saying, we have the biggest bunch of complete weapons in the League in charge of our club.

The Premier League is the richest League in the World, TV and sponsorship money overall has gone through the roof and yet our debts increase year on year on and last Season alone we lost 9m.

Im not saying our revenues wont increase, im just saying, compared to other, better ran Clubs, a Club like Everton wont improve as much as others. Again, you seem to think this "30m" will all be spent on players, im saying it will be used to prop up our appalling commerical and debt ridden accounts.

All I want is for you to admit that its very unlikely we will see a MASSIVE increase in playing purchases.
