I'd be going for Jon OBi Mikel if he was available, would add the legs in the engine room which we crave and free Gibson up to dictate play.

Prem experience will settle in nice and early.

£16m - we could do much better for that type of cash.

Anyway Joel Robles from Athletico is signing - the goalie who was on loan to Wigan last year.

I was only talking about that keeper yesterday and said we would probably end up with him, he is decent. I agree if Mikel is that price there are far better options, but if it was between him and McCarthy I'd have to go with Mikel.

To be fair he will get a pay rise and Champion League football, he been here five seasons now so good luck to him if he get the move he craves. Would rather he turned them down and stayed with us but it all about climbing the ladder with footballers.
i wouldnt blame him at all, as you say would sooner he stayed, but footballers theses days can get millions out of a couple of moves, and he would have the chance to win stuff, with the clubs linked

Awful footballer, if that's what you can call him.

not impressed with him myself and deffo not at the figures quoted, sooner have a gamble on someone like stephen ireland or lower lg player to be honest

Ireland is technically a good player but he always seems to have injury problems and be in and out of the team. He won player of the year for City in 2009 and Villa's fan's player of the year the season before last so there's definitely a player in there. When he's on form he's a good player.

not that bad when his head is on the game, which isnt often these days but i would sooner have him than mikel who i just dont rate, more of my distane for him ,than wanting ireland in

He must have gone the same way as Johnny who was our player of the season, the villa fans cant wait to see the back of him, he a looney mate, a basket case.

My head is spinning with this fellaini case.
I almost hope that it would be sorted soon. But if Martinez persuades him to stay -then great.

He was brilliant for City in 2009 before they were taken over, and was poorly treated in that despite being their player of the year they shipped him out as part of the Milner deal. I remember watching him thinking he had a real good future but it wasn't to be.
