The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Oscar Cardozo has recently been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, but O Jogo is reporting that an unnamed Premier League club have offered €17million (£14.6m) for the Benfica striker. The likes of Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have also recently been linked with a bid to sign the Paraguayan, while he has been mooted as a replacement for Edinson Cavani at Napoli.

So it's NOT us then.

Like i said earlier, seems weird to me, just passing info on mate.

We do however need a few squad players so can't see any issue with loaning a 19yr old to play a bit part role

Don't think we need 19 year old squad players up front to be honest. Jelavic, Mirallas, Anichebe, Naismith, Vellios, Mcaleny, Long would all be capable of playing bit part roles up front. We need quality not quantity.

John Stones has played 24 games for Barnsley at right back and never in the Premier League. Tony Hibbert has represented us 259 times and has played at centreback under Moyes in an emergency. Would you rather play two academy players (Stones and Duffy) instead?

Heitinga is probably going. If he isn't then he was our player of the year not so long ago and was good enough to play in a World Cup final. Playing regularly and having two central defenders alongside him come help him to rediscover that form.

I think Naismith could be our version of Kuyt and score some important goals. He has struggled to adapt but he's been asked to play in a new position and he hasn't featured very much, so it's understandable.

Gueye will find a new club in France I expect. If we're going to have players like that in the squad they need to be contenders for a starting position otherwise they might as well not be there.

Osman broke into the England squad and scored only one fewer than our second top scorers (Mirallas and Anichebe) in all competitions, despite playing for much of the season in a deeper role. We might as well try and accommodate him in the side. And if Mirallas or Barkley played in front of Coleman they're likely to leave him exposed, which will mean that he won't be able to get forward as much. Ossie could do for him what Pienaar has done for Baines on the other side.

What is your amazing idea? Get rid of Heitinga, Naismith, Gueye and Osman? We might get about £8m for the lot if we're lucky. That would cover Fer's transfer fee. Now how are you going to cover the other three positions?

Instead of a 32 year old 5'9 tall slow right back whose played a total of 2 minutes of footy since December and 6 games all last season and is coming back from a bad injury, then yes i would rather start stones and duffy rather than hibbert at cb, id also start stones ahead of him at rb should Coleman be injured.

So what that he had one good (not great just good) season for us in the entire time he's been here, he was utter gash last season and lost us points on at least 4 occasions, he played in a world cup final 3 years ago, yeah he also got sent off in that final if ya forgot mate, and as for every time ive seen him playing for Holland since he has been absolutely terrible, including looking shocking during the euros, but how a player plays for his international team is irrelevant i care about how they play for us, and he cant run, cant turn, cant jump, I'd rather not give him another 26 league games to try to rediscover this form you speak of.

I hate Kuyt, but sorry to compare him and Naismith shows your clueless mate, Kuyt whilst a **** had a lot of positives about his play, Naismith has absolutely zero going for him and is championship caliber, Kuyt would have walked into our team all the whilst he was at the ****e.

Aye Osman got called up during a really good spell of form early season, then after that put in maybe 3-4 good games all season, looked absolutely goosed for half the season, got ran over in loads of games, don't use the fact he got capped for a **** England side to try to make out hes some billy the fish, hes a squad played at best these days

Miralles will stop Coleman getting forward and leave him exposed, errr watch a game now and again, some of Coleman's best games came with Miralles playing right side, ****ing hell the two of them their terrified the left side of the opposition, they'd be rubbing their hands together if they saw Osman out wide, id argue playing a slow am as a winger ala Osman would leave him a LOT more exposed than anything else
But you genuinely haven't got a clue about Coleman have you mate?

My idea, ok then here ya go, get rid of Heitinga, Naismith, Gueye yup like a ****ing shot, Keep Osman and use him as a squad player, a fresher Osman playing less games will get the best out of him, use him either in am or cm if we have a dm behind, allow him to use what hes good at and protect the weak ares of his game.
Alcares in for Heitinga for veteran cover, only ones whose not slow as treacle and whose good in the air unlike johnny
Why we need cover for Gueye, he never featured and was shipped out to France on loan, easy answer is Oviedo lad.
Play Barkley a lot more in the center, dropped off the striker or occasionally in cm depending on the opponents.
Naismith on the right, rather give Kennedy a shot, he cannot do any worse

Plus you reckon Felli is staying lid or going as if hes gone we have 24m or more to invest, be able to get some good good back ups for Naismith and Heitinga for that like lol

from the people we've been 'linked' with it'd be quite good to get in :

Joel
Alcaraz
Sinclair
Fer
New striker.

without selling felli.

Just to put it out there Nathan Redmond is apparently available for around 2mil. He was a bit crap for englands u21 but you can see he's got the raw talent to become a good winger.
Wouldn't be against signing him so Martinez can develop him as he has done with n'zogbia, moses and mcmanaman.

This is exactly the sort of buy we should be looking at. Young, pacey and has already got plenty of playing experience in a competitive league. £2m would be minimal risk and could prove to be a bargain - he's the sort of player who could go on to be worth 5 times that in 2-3 years.

will no doubt be a hugely unpopular suggestion but if Bendtner is available for £3m then i'd consider that. 25 years old, big point to prove and has scored 22 goals in 55 games for his international side which is a very healthy return. I'd much rather take a chance on him than go for someone like Bent, Defoe, Charlie Austin or Rhodes which i've seen suggested on here plenty and who would all cost considerably more

I think sinclairs a good player, he's been unfortunate at city because of the calibre of player they have but i really do think he could excel here.

He is an awful player who thinks he is better than he is.

With you mate; Sinclair link also makes sense as he was on loan at Wigan when Martinez was there plus he wouldnt even have to move house.
The list you posted could definitely be possible without selling Fellaini, loan with a view to buy maybe being a very good option.

we've no sub keeper at the minute do we?
Well who knows if one of the younger keepers is ready to step up? My point wasn't so much that we wouldn't get a keeper under any circumstances but that it wouldn't be a major purchase. We have limited funds and I don't see that being as important as other positions. So I'd be looking at someone on a free (or very minimal cost).
