The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Why the assumption from the majority that we will go back in for Fer?

If he was a Moyes pick, what's to say that Martinez doesn't fancy him? I'd say this is a far more likely scenario than the consistent view throughout here that "as we bid for him in January, we're bound to try again".

He seems to be on a high percentage of poster's shopping lists. I don't see it myself, unless anyone has some inside track that Martinez is also an interested party.

I trust Moyes on signing gems. Martinez - still to judge him as he hasn't made a signing at Everton.

There are definitely options out there, some of them might not be the "Big Names" we would all want but there are players out there for small fees we could bring and develop. Because let be realistic we need depth and we'll either get young, inexperience, talented and cheap players or older, experienced, probably past it and cheap players, there is no way we are going to sign a top player already at his peak for peanuts.

So IMHO we need to buy for the future and bring experienced players who are probably unwanted or down the pecking order on loan. We need to develop our players that's the only way until we get take over by a billionaire.

Sinclair, Moses, Marko Marin, Redmond, Angelo Henriquez, Federico Macheda, Guidetti, just to name a few are players we could get on loan with a view to a permanent or for relatively small fees if we compare what clubs are paying these days for good players (not great or world class).

I will take Sinclair, Moses, Marin and Guidetti. All of them have proved that they can add value and quality to our squad.

I don't know who Redmond is.

I won't take Henriquez and Macheda. They can't even get a game when they were out on loan.

Why is it taking so looooooooong?! :(

Because a) he's not in the country and b) most of the footballing fraternity are off work until 1st July.

Deals being completed/done now by other clubs will have been previously instigated, certainly not involving new managerial appointments who have been guaranteed 100% control over player transfers.

Based on this, who would you put in the frame as a potential left back option should Baines go?

Generally interested in your thoughts on players based purely on the names you've put forward there.

think redmond is the young lad at birmingham city, looks very good the few times i have seen him if its him, but would expect quite a few in for him if he was out of contact or on a small fee, might be someone else but he is the only one i can think of.
