It all depends on what we have to spend. If we bought 3-4 players and one happens to be Kone for 5m, I won't be all that disappointed. If we buy two players and lose two in Fellaini and Heitinga and one happens to be Kone, I will be apoplectic.

I,ve had my say on the manager before he signed up, the players on the pitch will get my support but before they are purchased it,s open season.

The PL table never lies so we will see next May.
 
I'd be alright with Kone. We'd all like someone who's got 20 a season in him, but perhaps we don't have the money. The lid's got a great touch on him, holds the ball up superbly, has enough pace and is a good enough finisher to do a very solid job for us. With our standard of service, I'd fancy him to get 12 to 15 goals, which is already a big improvement on what we've got.

Also, if we could get Mirallas playing off the striker (please, Roberto) I think, based on his goal scoring in the back end of last season when he got fit, we've got a 15 goal a season player there, so we wouldn't really need a 20 goal a season man to push us towards the top four. All we need to push on is, well, pretty much exactly what Kone is. A big strong lad who has all the attributes to play the lone role, can add a few more goals and can contribute more to our good football, which I think he will. He's a really tidy player.

His age is a shame, but one good season from the lid could mean the transfer pays for itself and more.
 
I would hesitate Kone on a free never mind paying Mirallas money for him. He's not really that good, he's 29 so he'll only have like two years of use until he goes out for free. If you divide that 5m with that he'll cost us 2.5m a year without his signing up fee, agent fee's or his salary. Even at free with the fees involved he'd be one of our most expensive players for what we'd get for him which would not be much. I'd rather we keep our sexy Greek as third option not Kone even though his name means 'machine' in Finnish.
 
People really need to stop linking/wanting players from the SPL... it's uber gash! Celtiic romped to the league with the likes of Kris Commons, Joe Ledley and Georgios bloody Samaras!

The reported £12m fee for Wanyama is absolutely ridiculous.

Have to agree with this. There's been a long list of players who've either looked brilliant in the scottish league and then failed in the english one, or have not looked great in England and then gone on to be a big success in the SPL.

There will be exceptions but i'd rather not spend £12m in the hope that he is one. We need to be looking to find the player before he goes on to be valued at the £10m+ fees

Wanyama looked good in the champions league as well though. If you can mix it with Barcas midfield you can't be too bad.
