The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

5M for someone with no sell on value is maddeness for a club who live hand to mouth.

It all depends on where you see the value of the transfer coming from. If you are solely looking at re-sell value then obviously Kone should be avoided but there are other aspects. What if his ~15 goals or whatever he could hypothetically get, gets us hypothetically in the champs league? Then the fee would look miniscule.

Is it though? What if he gets 20 goals and gets us 4th? hes paid for himself 4 times over!

Allowing managers and players to enter final years of their contract and get us nothing back in fees or compo is utter madness.

In fact blowing 10m on 3 players who are the wrong side of 27 invites trouble if they don,t wotk out and then go thorugh the montions on their last big contract.

IMHO we should borrow the extra money and get a better a player rather than 3 who has a sell on value and years in front of them to draw out the hunger and ambition.

Nobody on here can blame anyone for worrying when we can't attract decent players anymore and Swansea, Cardiff, are building their team. You can't blame us for worrying. 2 or 3 seasons time think how much more teams would've strengthened. Mod table mediocrity coming back.

Kone is crap. Not good enough for Everton. Should've pushed the boat out a little and got Bony.

£10m and circa £100k p/w for those three is a good deal IMO. We are in desperate need of numbers and Martinez has said he likes to rotate his squad, which is one thing 90% of Evertonians bemoaned Moyes for not doing. I suspect having a bigger squad will enable us to give the cups a bit of a better shot as our players ain't be so knackered all of the time.

These players strike me as good enough for the first team but not so big that they'll get unhappy if they're not paying week in week out. Exactly what you need from squad players.

So Kone is going to get us champs league? Fella we need to spend a lot more then that to be even see the teams who will be ahaed of us this season come April.

They're coming in without anyone leaving lad. Unless you've been living under a rock, Fellaini will pretty much leave, which will give Martinez at least £20m to then improve the first eleven.

So one of if not the best player leaving then the money will be able to improve us? If he's signing ****e like this already I wouldn't trust him with it. Selling Fellaini will not improve us even if we did get all the money to spend.

It's irritating to hear people whine about stuff they've no clue about. Who says we can't attract decent players? Who's to say Honda won't sign on Monday? It's obviously a forum and people can say what they like but it gets irritating and doesn't progress any discussion or offer any solution so it becomes needless.

We've lost Neville, Hitzelsperger and probably Heitinga for definite.

Replacing them with Alcaraz, Kone and McGeady isn't that bad.

AND

I think there will be more ins (and outs)

Ill have £50 with anyone that we will finish above cardiff, swansea and norwich - and any of the other ****e people seem to be panicking over on here.

Worry more that the top 4 are pulling further away than what ****e below us sign.
