£10M isn't what it used to be. And whilst I'm not exactly enthralled with the names being touted, 3 players that would provide coverage in certain areas, as well as adding squad depth for £10M is good business.

Based on that argument, why not:

Alcaraz (free)
Douglas (free)
Bridcutt (free)
Redmond (£3m)
Finnbogason (£3m)

Roughly the same outlay (less fees, more wages), but more players. Bridcutt could make the step up like Cahill and Lescott did, and Redmond and Finnbogason are younger and cheaper than Kone and McGeady. If all you're looking for is depth, why spend more than you need to?

That formation moves Mirallas central where he has less defensive duties. Those three players can also interchange. Pienaar is getting older, even though he has a couple years left.

I dont get this, you'd think they were three lads from round the corner. Those players you mentioned were plucked out of the 'global market' in the first place and have done enough to persuade Martinez that he'd made the right decision. Maybe he should try again and come up with some players that might not make it in the vain hope that he unearths the next Neymar?

Those players were plucked out of a global market based on who WIGAN could afford/attract.
IMO, with the exception of Moses, the others would not get snif based on what they showed last yr and we can do better.

4-3-3 is the way forward IMO.

Get mirallas on the left which is his best posistion. Sign someone for the right, Moses Donovan Redmond Sinclair, move pienaar central to compete with Fellaini Gibson osman and Barkley plus 1 more, Honda or Fer. Sign a striker. Add a couple of loans, move on the likes of guaye, Naismith, vellios,

Stay away from McGeady is all I ask!
