He´s a great guy, but this might well be his last chance of ever getting to play in the Champions league. I wouldn´t be surprised if he went.

Fantastic idea the Champions league. Not only does it guarantee the same 8-10 teams a ****load of dosh and new fans each season, it also means they have a massive wedge when buying up players from poorer teams. And you know it´ll never be stopped either, since it´s all the neutral fans in places like Sweden and Japan are interested in watching.

Yeah. It's harder to take as a club on the cusp of getting somewhere as well. Sadly, the transfer window is one of the big selling points of the circus nowadays.
Oh to be financially strong enough to tell them to [Poor language removed].

Kone is an improvement on Anichebe, Vellios and McAleny, so he is effectively adding strength.
Alcaraz allows Heitinga to leave and has PL experience which Duffy has very little off and Stones has none off, adding strength.
If RM can get the best out of McGeady then he's a better option than Naismith and Gueye off the bench, adding strength.

Just don't believe that those three coming in for £10m-ish once you factor in signing on fees/wages etc would result in the improvement you'd hope (and in our financial position expect) for that kind of financial outlay. Whereas a £10m midfielder or striker might, as well as sending out a message to the other players that we are trying to progress.

Am I right in thinking Mcgeady was Celtics version of Naismith? If so we should avoid at all costs. We don't need another Old Firm winger

McGeady has been and always will be better than Naismith. There is a reason we got him on a free, you know...

Still that said, I don't fancy McGeady myself. I'd rather spend the £4m elsewhere.

For me pienaar is one of the best creative players in the EPL to actually offer any cover to his full back,he gets through plenty of effort even when he is not on top form .

Yes, because he managed to void his contract when Rangers went into administration. Nothing to do with him being a poor player (although he is)
