I expect this is the excuse if we finish in a crap position next May. They must realize there is a massive gap in terms of quality between the top 7 and the rest so finishing below the like of West Brom and Swansea is shocking (given our squad).
The season after they will say the net spend is minus x,y,z millions. No money to spend what can we expect blah blah blah.

No you're speculating that we're going to lose our best players and then speculating that we'll use the large ammount of money we would receive to buy players that are far poorer. Being overly negative for no good reason

It's very much in his interests not to give in though isn't it? If he doesn't sell Baines at a price we could all live with, it would make him hugely unpopular.
