They would have a midfield of Arteta and Fellaini then.

They never seemed to play well together for us though.

Arsenal set up differently than we did with those two tho...
Arsenal tend to have a triangle in the center DM, CM, CM. We tended to go with CM CM and a very attacking Cahill just behind the striker as a ACM.

Think bobby may well change us to the same set up in CM as arsenal next season. Gibson as the DM then two CM just in front and a 3 pronged attack, just like the arsenal.

dare I say Fellaini was great pre christmas but after the Stoke game I thought he dipped,24 million seems a good price to me,could get three good players for that.

Considering Fellaini is such a physical strapping monster why has he never scored from one of the hundreds of corners we had last season?

I agree with the comments about him being excellent first half of last season but not so good second half.

If Martinez already has a ten million budget then adding another 24m from Fellaini's sale would really allow him to put his stamp on the team.

Thirty million would buy five very good players and imo almost certainly push us into a top five finish.

He scored from a corner in our first game mate.

This is all well and good but, can you honestly see our board doing it?

Linked with Denis Cheryshev again.
Now theres the kind of player we should be going after instead of Aiden McGeady. 22yrs old, bags of talent, could flourish under Martinez and regular first team games.

dipped from looking like a world beater, he was found out up front and still played there. when he dropped back he started to look awesome. most players valued a lot higher than him who if they were moved in position and spent the season being grappled by defenders without protection would have sulked the entire season. lets say we get money for him..most obvious scenario to me is that in an inflated market clubs know how much we have to spend, prices go up, Bobby stalls, we end up either buying overrated rubbish or he spends the amount he was going to spend anyway on hidden gems so we have money in the bank but no Fellaini

Well Felli will go, Bill has basically admitted it. What we need is for Bobby to have a very good summer of deals in, can't afford to have more than one dud come in or we will go backwards. I accept no manager gets it right 100% of the time but if we sign 4 players this summer we need 3 to be hits.

I've read nothing from Kenwright which suggests that, in fact he's been saying Fellaini has indicated he wants to stay. But I agree with one of the earlier posts that I'm not bothered what happens, if we keep him great, if we don't then screw him, can't see him fitting into martinez's style of play as much as he did moyes's and we looked good in the games we played without him last season so I think the 24 mil we got for him would improve the team as a whole

If Fellaini goes, bring in Leroy Fer or Marco van Ginkel, De Guzman, a winger, Wilfred Bony and a central defender, if we finally manage to get rid of Heitinga. Also try to sell Naismith and Gueye. Free up as many wages as possible.

I think this season bill should throw his wallet at bobby . If we don't buy much then chances are we are going to stay the same or get worse . If they set them selves a target of Europa league first then he should sell Fellaini to start the revolution . Say 24 million for Fellaini and 10 million from the failed bid for fer and the standard transfer budget that's 34 million . Let Martinez buy 3 or 4 top draw players to really improve the squad . Then if we do make Europe the bill can give him only a small amount to bulk up the squad .The board should really budget for January window as this will be an important time if we are having a good season . I believe we can push on and get 5th this season if we invest every penny wisely
