I don't think he's that bad, goal scoring wise he's pretty poor. But he's very good at bringing others into play and being strong in the air / holding it up. Like i say i'd only have him as a squad player.

Again, we shouldn't be bringing in "squad players" we have enough of them. We should be bringing in first team players to help improve our position. I see Osman, Anichebe etc as squad players and they're a hell of a lot better than Di Santo.

Our squad is tiny, so i fail to see how we have enough of them. I still think we should bring in a quality striker if we can, but realistically it will be very hard to do that, unless we sell fellaini, heitinga etc. And even then we literally can't afford to just sign one or two top quality players because of our squad being so small. We need to cover a lot of positions. Neville is leaving that means right back, defensive midfield, left back, central midfield cover is gone. Which is why i suggested someone like Anele who can play in all of those positions, then we have to bring in a sub goalkeeper, because of mucha leaving. Hitzlsperger has also left which leaves a gap in midfield, and then we have to bring in another winger and of course top priority being a striker. We need to spend our money building and strengthening our squad not only with a quality striker but with players who can play in various positions and players who can play different roles. Why i suggested Di santo is because we have the likes of Jelavic, and possibly another striking addition who are goal scorers, natural poachers, but not so good at anything else. In Jelavic's case. He was asked to do roles that just werent suited to him sometimes, Di santo though he lacks in finishing he makes up for in bringing others into play, holding the ball up, picking the right pass, and heading ability. It's not just as simple as saying oh lets spend all our budget on one or two players, because we can't afford to do that.

My word, Di Santo!!!!!

Lets just get the whole Wigan team in, and Bramble back into the mix as well.

Alcaraz and Di Santo, some people need to take a cold shower and take a long look at themselves in the mirror.

I think this season bill should throw his wallet at bobby . If we don't buy much then chances are we are going to stay the same or get worse . If they set them selves a target of Europa league first then he should sell Fellaini to start the revolution . Say 24 million for Fellaini and 10 million from the failed bid for fer and the standard transfer budget that's 34 million . Let Martinez buy 3 or 4 top draw players to really improve the squad . Then if we do make Europe the bill can give him only a small amount to bulk up the squad .The board should really budget for January window as this will be an important time if we are having a good season . I believe we can push on and get 5th this season if we invest every penny wisely

Throw his wallet at Martinez?!

What exactly do you think that would give us? You do know kenwright isn't independently wealthy in a way that can run a premier league football club, don't you? That's the major problem with him!

Well we could "realistically afford" any of their first team. Whether we'd WANT to pay what they'd ask is a different question.

What i meant by that was, we couldn't really 'realistically' afford any of them because all of them aside from di santo, alcaraz, who are even just 'alright' i.e kone, mccarthy would cost 5m upwards, and i doubt with our budget and the need to bring in afew players we could afford to take that sort of budget risk on them.

Well our budget this season is likely to be 30-35m, so we could afford them if we wanted to. And if McManaman costs > 5m btw, after 3 good performances, football has officially gone insane.
