Everton's prospects of hanging on to Arsenal target Marouane Fellaini have improved after it emerged his £24million escape clause is due to expire in around six weeks.
Anxious to avoid being caught out by a pre-deadline approach and left without enough time to find an adequate replacement, Everton insisted on limiting the duration of the clause when negotiating Fellaini's current contract.
To the consternation of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is still weighing up the financial implications of meeting the buy-out figure and personal terms, Everton will be at liberty to reject any offers for their in-demand midfielder after August 15

Just what we need, felli staying with us only because he went past his sell by date. He'll stink the gaff out next season if that turns out to be the case

he loves it here mate, if he really didn't want to be with us he wouldn't still be here simple as. he definitely wouldn't have signed a 5 year contract. he can also still request to leave after 6 weeks time you realise?

And here it is I'd take one of the four names listed here, take one guess.

Roberto Martinez is closing in on a £6million move to make Aiden McGeady his top summer signing as Everton manager.
Everton's former Wigan boss is on the verge of a transfer breakthrough as he prepares to take £5million striker Arouna Kone and out-of-contract centre-back Antolin Alcaraz from his old club.

Second time lucky: Roberto Martinez hopes to land Aiden McGeady
Mindful of the need to maintain the progress made under David Moyes, Martinez aims to add at least two more new faces to his squad, with McGeady set to be the costliest of all.
Desperately disappointed to miss out on the Spartak Moscow and former Celtic winger in January, after a £5million bid was turned down, he has kept tabs on a player he rates highly and is confident of landing him at the second attempt.
His other signing will be a keeper, with Atletico Madrid's Joel Robles a possible target after impressing on loan at Wigan last season.

Switch: Wigan striker Arouna Kone could be on his way to Everton

Really didn't look it in the second half of the season. You know just after the January transfer window shut.

Quality young British players are in demand and valued at a premium. If he was good enough to be starting for the 6th best team in England then he wouldn't be available for 2 million pound, no matter how skint Birmingham are.

And he would be attracting a lot more interest than just that of Swansea and Norwich if he was that good. He's an expensive 'potential' signing, like Dan Gosling and Magaye Gay were.

Redmond is good though.. really good. Did you watch the England U21 squad at the World Cup this summer? He was widely acclaimed as the one bright spot in an otherwise dismal performance from England. He was also one of the youngest players in that team. £2m for him would be an absolute bargain! He is better and shows more potential than, say, John Stones who we spent £3m on in January.

The actual [Poor language removed]?

That vid reminded me of our own George Green's vid, which was even worse in the cringeworthy stakes.

What do they be thinking?

I know I will regret asking, but what is this George Green video? Don't think I've seen it.

Good to see Fellaini's agent once again leaking confidential information to the media hoping to push through a deal. It's starting to sound like he doesn't even care where to.. as long as he gets his commission.

Sad. I want us to keep Felli, a genuine boss player.... but not if he wants to go.
