I'd take Redmond over McGeady, without watching Redmond much. He seems to have a lot of hype around him though and he's young. And seemingly also cheaper.

Happy with Kone and Alcaraz though, providing we do shift Heitinga and bring in a top signing to complement them.

Over to you Roberto lid.

This. I am still hopeful that this is just the first wave of activity.

By the way we really aren't paying Moyes, and haven't been for weeks.

If he's still under contract, no matter what way you look at it, we are still paying him. We have to honor his wage packet, if we gave him the remainder of his wages a few weeks ago I still class it as a weekly bill until he goes.

I think it is mate. We have a bit of money now so Martinez seems to be addressing the squad depth problem we've had for years, when the big money comes in, then another wave of activity will happen, but, it'll be higher quality players.

Until someone tells me why we aren't paying him, we are paying him.

...and regardless of whether he is receiving money he still IS officially Everton manager...putting a bid on on his own playing staff for another club he isn't officially manager of.

Not that it matters like.

Clap clap clap.

He is under contract. To Manchester United. Not to Everton.

Really hoping that all the transfer rumours are just that - rumours. Names being thrown around are very average.

I didn't realise Martinez had a £5M bid for McGeady rejected last January.

You're not at Wigan anymore..

Well according to LCAB we're signing Mcgeady, Kone, and alcaraz. I don't actually think it's THAT bad, Kone is at the moment better than what we have and i think he'll do well (as long as he doesn't wear a defenders number) yes he didn't do too well at villareal but everyone can have a bad season, he seemed to score goals wherever else he went. Mcgeady i also don't 'not rate' like many others, i don't think he's the BEST option out there, but i think his pace is an asset we need, especially if Mirallas isn't playing / is injured. His crossing is a bit hit and miss, but he will always try to take someone on and get us going forward, so for 4m i don't think it'd be that bad, he did win spartak player of the year in half a season and went on to become a bit of a fan favorite with them, so i think he could do well. Alcaraz is going to be a direct replacement for Heitinga, IMO. He's different to heitinga in the fact he's really strong in the air, likes to get stuck in and probably a better marker, he won't be a bad back up and it'll free up wages for when heitinga leaves.

Overall it's just buffing the squad up a little bit, i don't think they will be the only signings, and i dont think they will be our 'best' signings of the window, but they aren't bad for a starting basis.

Between 12th September 2007 and 18th September 2011, Kone played a total of 48 games for Sevilla and Hanover. He scored three goals. That's a bit worse than just "a bad season". Yes, he's scored 26 more in 67 games since September 2011, but he's just not worth £5m.

As for McGeady: would you prefer him for £4m plus wages, or Redmond for £2m plus wages?

Alcaraz I agree is not a bad move, especially if Heitinga goes.

Alright then he had a bad time at a club, doesn't mean he can't do well at other clubs, as has been proven. (same with Yakubu with us) I'd prefer Redmond but i'm not the manager and i'm not making the signings, Martinez is. Maybe he'll bring in both of them.
