at the moment mucha, neville and hitz OUT
Robles, Alcaraz, Dela..., Kone IN

is definitely an improvement in my eyes, especially with the emmergence of youngsters like barkley who will be proper first team players this season. It will look totally different with the sale of baines mind you, unless we bought 3 really really top players with the fee which would mean a much bigger squad as well which has always been our problem lately

Not sure we have to buy 3 top players to replace Baines mate

no i mean if we sell him, we could possibly buy 3 top players and that would be strengthening again. if we only bring in 1 replacement left back who's not as good and the rest goes to the bank then there's an argument we haven't strengthened at all this summer

Everton have submitted a bid to sign Le Mans centre-back Mory Kone.

The offer from the Toffees landed at the French club on Friday and, according to L’Equipe, was set at €1m.

Kone only broke through at Le Mans last season, but has long been tipped for the top, with appearances at youth level for France Under-17s, Ivory Coast Under-17s, France Under-18s and France Under-19s.

The 19-year-old spent time in the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain, before eventually landing at Le Mans in 2009.

And his talents have caught the eye of Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

A move to the Premier League will undoubtedly be attractive for Kone, with Le Mans having been relegated from Ligue 2 last season, something which will see the club operate in the third tier of French football in 2013/14.

Kone appeared in 23 games for Le Mans last season. The 19-year-old is under contract with the club until 2015.

Could be two Kone's at the club! A Kone and M Kone.

No doubt M Kone's nickname will be Mary.

Now people will be excited about this signing if it happens, but imagine the fume if we signed someone called Dave Jones from a relegated Championship club.

He'll no doubt be 4th choice to battle it out with Duffy, who incedentaly may then be able to go out on loan.

Another squad filler. Seriously starting to think we don't have the cash for first 11 signings unless someone is sold.

We paid £900,000 for Gueye under fairly similar circumstances.

Sure. I absolutely approve of our policy of picking up young talented players in crap league for less than a million quid and seeing how they go.

The difference is vellios, coleman, kennedy, gueye, that portuguese lad whos now in bulgaria, that azerbaijani who killed two people, mclaughin all actually played positions we need or might need in the future.

With Distin, Jagielka, Alcaraz, Duffy, Stone and Heitinga is a 7th Cb really something we want?

4 of those players are 30 or 30+, 1 of those players looks a bit gash.
