Sad and glad to see him go, is that a bad thing? I know he has become detrimental to the side when he plays and i'm glad it means other players will get a chance, but all he has done, and he still loves the club makes me sad, it's bitter and sweet this, thanks Tim for the memories, good luck in the MLS.

Yeah, it's just MLS not THE MLS. The Major League Soccer doesn't make sense.

I'm certainly sad to see him go, but I'm happy that I'll still be able to watch him play at Red Bull Arena.

people are being a bit too sentimental, yes he was awesome but hes done nothing for the past two seasons and actually hampered our play, its sad but im glad hes going and i think 1mill is not great but its ok, i doubt you could ask for much more cos of his wages

Depends on where he wants to go.

I would much rather get £1m for him and save his wage packet than have him here next season honestly, he's past it.

sadly this is true. also people need to remember we only paid 1.5 mill for him to start with. 8 years of absolute brilliant service and we regained 2/3rds of the transfer fee. wish he would get a farewell match, has been a brilliant servant for us.

THT saying it's up to cahill now - would be best for both parties if he does go, barkley will soften the blow hopefully

Surely even Everton have been clever enough to put something in place to enable Donovan to come in with this deal?

Then again...

He scored 9 goals 2 seasons ago....

Then why sell?

Because we're a better team without him playing? We get a bit of money, a big earner off the wages and Tim gets the regular football he probably won't get here. Should we keep him here on big wages and not play him or play him even when we've got better younger players on the bench like we did last year? Neither option is good for us and neither is great for Timmy, either.

Not sure there's any chance the Galaxy lets Donovan go so that NYRB can sign Cahill. I know the MLS player allocation rules are messed up, but they're not that messed up.

The replacement will be one of Barkley and Naismith who we're already paying.

you won't see moyes playing Barkley much this season which is a pity, when you seen that last season McFadden was making the squad before him, Ossie and Neville will still get a game before him in midfield wait and see.

why replace one washed up veteran with another? When Donovan is past it in a year we'll be in the same position
