I didn't enjoy the Louvre. There is not just one Caravaggio, there's like 100. All exactly the same. Same with Rubens. Same with tons of Artists. There are corridors 50 yards long lined on both sides with work all by the same artist. Becomes incredibly tedious and just makes you want to whizz past it all.

I hear the Musee d'Orsay is much better. Massive queues though.

Paris is great for just wandering around. Lovely city.

Good luck with finding non pretentious bars in Paris!

My absolute favourite.

Art I think we'll do the usuals, she's into it but I only really know Caravaggio (though I believe one of his paintings is on display in the louvre)
Music and food for defo, any decent live music in a pub or bar will do, like I say we're already going to deftones on Sunday.
Drinking is one for me, some boss pubs and bars that aren't stuck up with dress codes etc.
Ta

There's a brilliant place called L'Entrepôt by Pernety train station.
It has three small, comfortable cinemas showing loads of films each week. There's an art gallery on the top floor, a restaurant with tables outside in the summer, plus regular live music, pretty much every night. Or you just go for a decent coffee or a beer and there'll be a good soundtrack playing, nice food there too. I used to be in Paris once every couple of months with work, I did a fair bit of travelling at my job back in Liverpool and this one was probably the best bar I'd been too.

Been to visit the Grand Canyon today. Never really saw it as something I'd go out my way to see, but I'm really glad I did. Staying in Pheonix tonight before flying back to LA tomorrow night, anyone been to Pheonix and can suggest something to do or see?

Sorry boss, missed this. Might have had a few suggestions for the Phoenix area, but it is so freaking big they might not have been helpful at all anyways. (And they all would have been craft/micro breweries...)

Don't worry about it, mate. We found some pretty good things to do for the one day we stayed!

Going to Prague at the start of November. Any tips? Besides usual -places to visit, things to do-, would also like to get a party-club recommendation from someone younger, if possible. Will be there for 5 days.

I'm back! Lovely city, loads of beer and alcohol in general (Becherovka rules!), great history, beautiful women and awesome architecture. Got to visit Karlovy Vary & Dresden (Germany) aswell and it was all in all one really solid trip. Definitely recommended. Shamefully, my liver and legs probably didn't like it as much as I did.

Becherovka is fab. Really pleased you enjoyed your trip, been to Prague 10 times and love it. You should also try Bratislava, Budapest, Berlin, Tallin, Krakow and my new favourite...Gdansk. :pint2:

Will likely be going to Krakow in about a month, so I'm excited for that too! Not 100% yet, though. All other cities you named are on the list aswell, Central/Eastern Europe rocks!

.

Couldn't agree more. Hoping to get to Hamburg or Plzen/Karlovy Vary if we can afford it next year, already got a 10 day trip to Italy booked for Summer.

Off to West Mexico in Janaury to meet up with a couple of Canadian friends just having a chill out. But we are taking a boat trip to see humpback Whales.

And knock back the Tequila.:pint2:
the Humpbacks I think give birth around January then make the long journey up the West Coast to Canada then up to Alaska. They protect the Cubs from the pods of Orcas around Vancouver, and try to ensure safe passage to the plentiful fish reserves. I sat on a small boat in Canada with around 8 humpbacks just throwing themselves about.
Superb animals and great to,watch.....enjoy

Went to Dresden once and my brothers wife got her shoes robbed by a 7 foot stripper. Unsurprisingly I haven't been back.
