Found a great one at the Zhangzhizonglu metro stop, by Dangsi (sp) on the line 5 I think. Loved wandering around and getting lost in them!True, but fewer actual functioning ones. I noticed a lot had vanished between 05 and 07-08, and some others had been gentrified.
And I'd echo @The Esk re. China travel: the night trains (even hard sleeper) are cheap and comfortable, although top bunk on a hard sleeper normally means your face is about 3cm from the ceiling. Great experience, though, and a ni hao or two gets you a long way.
Beijing is worth a couple of days, no more if you have a tight schedule.
One way of maximising your time in China is to catch the overnight trains which are quite comfortable, you can sleep and a fascinating insight into China.
Good shouts by @caught I would add Chengdu to the list, fantastic culturally but also the best food in China in my opinion (and the Pandas)

Where about mate?
Kissimmee, Orlando and then Miami for a day or two
Sounds good mate, Miami's off it's head at night. I'm off to New York in a couple of weeks myself, can't wait.
gargh, I was actually thinking of doing a little 3/4 day trip to mara' around this time as easyjet had ridiculous cheap flights a few weeks ago, you're making me wish I had now, enjoy chumCurrently on day 5 of a trip around Morocco. Loving it so far, Marrakesh especially. Casablanca was s bit dodgy, but still enough to see over the 3 days I was there. Marrakech is much, much nicer though, and feels more Moroccan despite also being full of the usual tourist rip-off nonsense.
The food here is superb, and reasonably cheap. Loads of street vendors doing kebabs and loads of other meat-based greatness (veggies can do one). Grilled spicy sausages are about a quid a go, and taste fantastic. Ive had shed loads so far.
It a great place to unwind, especially as this is off-season but the weather is still boss (mid-20s during the days, a bit nippy at night). I bet Marrakech is heaving in summer, so I'd swerve that.
Still got to visit Essaouira, the High Atlas, Fes, Rabat, Tangier and Meknes yet in the next fortnight. Here's hoping they live up to Marrakech standards.
Oh, and another 3 or 4 games in amongst that. The atmosphere at the 2 I've been to so far was boss.
