gargh, I was actually thinking of doing a little 3/4 day trip to mara' around this time as easyjet had ridiculous cheap flights a few weeks ago, you're making me wish I had now, enjoy chum

Cheap flights to plenty of Moroccan destinations now, including Fes, Rabat and Tangier. It's pretty cheap while you're here, too.

Football on Christmas Day is a bonus. The big team in Marrakech (Kawkab) are at home to Ittihad Tangier at 6pm, and the ground is about a 5-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaar (the famous square and kasbar/soukh area that usually adorns the photos of Marrakech). Straight back here afterwards for a nice sheesha pipe and apple tea on one of the rooftop terraces overlooking life buzzing around down below. Lovely stuff.

no visa required for moroc is there?

Currently on day 5 of a trip around Morocco. Loving it so far, Marrakesh especially. Casablanca was s bit dodgy, but still enough to see over the 3 days I was there. Marrakech is much, much nicer though, and feels more Moroccan despite also being full of the usual tourist rip-off nonsense.

The food here is superb, and reasonably cheap. Loads of street vendors doing kebabs and loads of other meat-based greatness (veggies can do one). Grilled spicy sausages are about a quid a go, and taste fantastic. Ive had shed loads so far.

It a great place to unwind, especially as this is off-season but the weather is still boss (mid-20s during the days, a bit nippy at night). I bet Marrakech is heaving in summer, so I'd swerve that.

Still got to visit Essaouira, the High Atlas, Fes, Rabat, Tangier and Meknes yet in the next fortnight. Here's hoping they live up to Marrakech standards.

Oh, and another 3 or 4 games in amongst that. The atmosphere at the 2 I've been to so far was boss.
Marrakesh is a great place.

They do some boss quad bike treks into the Berber villages in the Atlas mountains mate, from just outside the City, well worth a look.

Work meant that I was unable to fulfil my trip to Germany before Xmas, but as said work has now ended for the foreseeable future I'm so tempted to bugger off to India. I have just spent a few hours looking it up and got to the confirm payment part but I'm not sure if I have the bottle to go throughwwith it. I know that it's dirt cheap over there but I worry that I won't be able to see all of it in the month British tourists applying for a online visa are restricted to?

Long time lurker...

Go. It's amazing. You won't regret it.

Not a chance you can see anywhere near it all in a month but regardless, you'd have a brilliant month. If you have more time available you can get six month visas from the office in Manchester.
