Business class gets you more room and a few perks on the Emirates overnights
Ye, but economy class saves you money. As someone of "normal" size (~182cm, 75kg) I never really understood people who fly in bussiness class all the time. Sure, it gives you more space and few more stuff, but you don't really need it most of the time. Not worth the money IMHO. Especially not if you're flying with a family.

Got a standard "last chance to upgrade your ticket!" email from Etihad. Cheapest offer to upgrade to business class is 480 Euro for one flight. Considered it for about six seconds, but I'm sure their economy is more than adequate, plus I'm not a particularly fussy flyer. Loads of food and free drinks in economy, decent leg room, good entertainment system in seat, relatively new planes... That'll do me nicely.
£350 upgrade for BC is a no brainer if it's a long flight imo.

Rekjyavik in 6 weeks, anybody been?

Got back about 6 weeks ago.

Excellent place, Laugavegur is the 'downtown' bit, suggest if you have an iPhone to download the 'AppyHour' app, so you can go round enjoying the 'cheap' beer!

If you are planning on doing any trips, it's worth paying a little bit more and going with Gateway to Iceland, and jot Grayline, you actually get a hands on experience and a far better trip, my tip is don't bother going to see Northern Lights, can see from City.

You'll love it, it's quirky, yet boss.

Just had a look at that, seems a painfully slow process!

Would you go to the northern or southern region?

Sorry mate was out yesterday. Unless the visa process has changed since, all I had to do was fill in an online form and book an appointment at the office where they went through form and took my passport. Three days later it was returned to me with the visa. As I say, may have changed.

Regarding what region I guess it depends on your interests and what kind of things you'd like to see. Any must-sees on your list?

The Taj Mahal is a definite, but also wildlife and nature too.

From the Taj Mahal you could head into Rajasthan and visit the Ranthambore National Park where tigers still live free. You can do safari there which was brilliant. I didn't see a tiger but still enjoyed it massively and saw a wild bear which was pretty cool.

Also from Delhi you could head north towards the Indian Himalaya if nature is your thing. Needless to say, they're absolutely breathtaking.

But likewise, you could easily find nature and wildlife activities in the South too.

Cheers! how long did you spend out there and what are your other recommendations?

Seven weeks mate between March and May of this year.

If you're heading south the state of Kerala is beautiful and you'll find lots to do down there. Beaches, backwaters etc Check out Munnar as you seem to be into nature.

Of all the big northern cities, Jaipur was my favourite. Can't put my finger on exactly why but loved it there. Delhi is a whirlwind that has to be seen especially for History lovers.

My personal favourite was a small Himalayan town called McLeod Ganj which is where the Dalai Lama lives in exile. Huge Tibetan population so culturally very different and based amidst snow topped peaks - amazing.
