has anybody here been to salou?
thinking of taking the woman and kids there in sept so was just wondering what the place is like?

Went every year for about 12/14 years, stopped going about 3/4 years ago

A few of the hotels have kids stuff going on - kids club, activities through the day like table tennis and stuff.

Can be really good at times, but equally it can be rubbish. Never been in September so not too sure what it is like then - my guess, quiet-ish with everyone back in School but the parks still get hammered and if you're not pushy, you'll lose out there.

Especially the top rides, groups of 5/6 just jump in front of you, horrible at times.

Easy to do a day in Barcelona too, not that far on the train.

Boss place though.

Cheers lad.ya the adventura theme park looks good and i think there is a waterpark is well so should keep the kids happy.went to llorent de mar last year in costa brava and done a day trip to barca from there.went and done the nou camp tour was class.salou is around 800 quid cheaper then the likes of tenerife so i reckon thats where i will be heading.

Was there abut 20years ago when the theme park first opened, Nice clean place, plenty of bars and restaurants also look at Cap Salou.

You will get plenty of info on tripadvisor.
Cheers lad.ya been haunting trip advisor last few days and think salou has jumped to the top of the list.looks to be way cheaper flights and hotel wise compared to the canarys.

No problems mate ;)

I'm off tomorrow for two weeks! Starting out in Tivat, Montenegro then moving to Kotor and onto Bosnia for a few days before finishing it off in Croatia again. Pretty excited, although the weather looks a bit choppy at the moment. Final bit of travel before graduating and nailing down a full time job (hopefully).

Off to Myanmar in September, any good? Hopefully there won't be too many slopes..... OOOOOOOOOOO #RACIST.
I presume you know about the brand new crisp $50 note you have to have on arrival for your visa. Sounds crazy but they won't accept an old one or if it's creased up. Try to keep it somewhere flat in your hand luggage. You may also need an LOI (letter of invitation)
I presume you are going with your work and they will know all about this, if you are going as a tourist then I'm not sure, but the travel agent should know.
I stayed in the Sedona hotel, not bad and just a few minutes walk from Aung San Suu Kyi's house. She was the woman who was imprisoned by the military, they call her 'the Lady', well worth going to see.
There's a couple of nice golf courses there.
You've got to go to the 'meat market' as well, it's a bar and is called the music bar but everyone calls it the meat market, a great big guitar outside on the wall, the hotel staff will know it.
Great place and the people are amazing, you should try some local delicacies too, field mice, snake and deep fried crickets :/
