Booked a weekend in Wales near Llangollen at the end of the month.

4 nights in Berlin in September. Gutted its international weekend because i would of loved to take in a game for Hertha, Union or Dynamo.

Book 3 nights in Vilnius in Novemeber for my gf's birthday. Anyone else been there offer any tips?
Yo roger.

Booking a four day trip in October to Austira. Which would be better, Vienna or Salzburg? Obviously Vienna being the capital but I hear Salzburg is much cheaper.
Not sure that Salzburg would be that much cheaper - there are cheap(er) places in both cities. Unless you are talking about flights as Salzburg has some cheaper operators.

If you like culture and bigger cities, then I would say Vienna wins hands down. Lots of interesting places to see and things to do.

Salzburg is smaller and more accessible and closer to the mountains. Also got the history and the culture, but a bit chocolate-box-y for me. Depending on when you go in October you might have lots of American coach tours in the place looking for Sound of Music sites. (Although they might have cancelled now wrt the world situation...)

I prefer Innsbruck to Salzburg as it seems more of a working city rather than just full of tourists. And if you are into mountains then they are on your doorstep.

Had enough of the sweaty mess that is the UK summer. Mrs Tree and I have ten days free in the middle of August - any suggestions for somewhere with more agreeable weather, preferably under the 20 degree threshold? We were thinking Copenhagen, Oslo or Reykjavik, but open to ideas.

Reykjavik hands down

Dresden next weekend and a long weekend in Bratislava for Slovakia v England in September, and just booked 4 nights in New York in September when both City and Red Bulls are at home.

Eyeing up a week or so in Cyprus before Xmas staying with a mate who's retired out there and is recovering from some tough surgery to his back.

Great! Thanks for this, mate. Will definitely look into Innsbruck, but thanks for the heads up about Salzburg. Ideally, i'd love to visit them all but can only manage one during October. Cheers again.

The other thing you might want to do is take a look at the tourist office sites and see if they have anything of interest going on for the dates you are travelling:
Vienna
Salzburg
Innsbruck

Linz is also an option for a short break.

Berlin is fabulous. If you get the chance go on the guided walking tour, you see loads of stuff.

Also I love Llangollen, really pretty.

We love Cala Bona in Majorca. Great restaurants right next to the sea. Egypt was good too. Went to a Bedouin camp where there was a radio telescope. Saw the moon like it was next door and even saw the rings of Saturn!

Paris was good, too. Got engaged there in 2002 and married in Gretna
Went there for the first time last October. Dead impressed with it- would go again

Not sure whether this has been done before but couldn't find anything recent...

I'm a huge lover of anything to do with travelling and experiencing other countries. Part of my job enables me to travel which is a huge bonus for me. I've just started saving up to travel around the world in the next 5 years and was wondering what your absolute favourite place is that you've been too? Or anywhere you've always wanted to go?
So you can tell us what it was like in about 18 months...in case Rhyl
