Just a quick question.does anyone on here know if there is something happening in liverpool the weekend of the utd game.its around the 3rd/4th december.was trying to book a hotel for that weekend and they were either a.fully booked b.min 2/3 night stay or c.in or around 100 pounds for the night.
So was just wondering is there something going on around the city that weekend that hotels seem scarce, can't stay just one night or overpriced?

Looking to book a very late deal over Christmas. Not too keen on the idea of booking online as like to have an actual person to blame if things go tits up, but Expedia seems to offer awesome prices.

Anyone ever had good or bad experiences with them?

There are better alternatives than expedia. They fleeced me with a ticket; also their insurance is meh.

You're better of using different sites. Trivago, agoda, booking.com, hotels.com ... . Be sure to manually check from time to time; although most of these are travel compare sites; sometimes you can find cheaper rates on the actual sites of the hotels. With the help of all these sites I booked my three weeks in Japan. I had a different hotel every three days and everything went very smooth. I was even able to make some last minute changes, no charge and all.

Thank you for that mate. Forgot about Trivago (would rather use sites I've heard of).

Looking to book a late-ish deal to New York so if you guys know any good sites for US stuff that would be good too.

I know NY pretty well but not great at booking online. Well, trusting online.

I'd say use Airbnb for accommodation but that requires a bit more trust. There is nothing wrong with doing it all online...

It will go fine mate. Nothing difficult. Just use a site to find the cheapest flights with, book it. Afterwards use one of the accommodation compare sites. Check prices. Book cheapest. Just pay attention to your dates [as in the concept with days (not your amorous escapades) write it out on a calendar or such]. Oh don't forget travel insurance: make your sure have insurance coverage in the USA.

On-line has lots of advantages; like you can pay later. Less hassle...
