Just a quick question.does anyone on here know if there is something happening in liverpool the weekend of the utd game.its around the 3rd/4th december.was trying to book a hotel for that weekend and they were either a.fully booked b.min 2/3 night stay or c.in or around 100 pounds for the night.
So was just wondering is there something going on around the city that weekend that hotels seem scarce, can't stay just one night or overpriced?

Always seems to be the same with hotels in liverpool now, there's some cracking places on Air bnb though.

Off to Bal Harbour Miami in two weeks....return visit. Only downside is the West Ham game being on the Sunday as I fly out of Heathrow that morning.

Wow, lots of love for Budapest here! looking forward to it even more now

Anyone had a poke around the labyrinths under the castle? reading mixed reviews.

We had a city break in Budapest a few years back and really enjoyed it. Reminded me of London, clearly the Danube is central to the city in the way that the Thames is, lots of ornate bridges, a Parliament building on the banks, historical areas close by. Go a mile or two away from the river and it is tower blocks and graffiti. We stayed in a hotel on an island in the Danube, central to everything, with its own hot thermal waters underneath, lovely baths, steam room etc. built to tap into it. Excellent trams and metro for getting around.

Budapest is amazing, beaten only by Berlin for me out of all the places I've been.

I'm off to Vilnius for the weekend in a couple of weeks, going to be a cold one! Any tips? It's 3 nights but only 2 days sadly so I think a visit to Trakai is out of the question.

Vilnius is really nice from what I saw when I was there a few years ago, but I didn't get to actually visit much while I was there :(

Would you rate Berlin over Munich?

That's a shame to miss Trakai but there's plenty to do in Vilnius. We did a walking tour starting from outside the cathedral that was excellent. St. Anne's church and the Gates of Dawn(Ostrabraman sp?) were worth a visit. Nice walkable city.
The Frank Zappa statue is kind of out of the way but we made it there since it was intriguing.

love Berlin. Great city. So is Munich. Munich more picturesque. So much to do in Berlin. We did this Segway tour. It was absolutely amazing and I thought it was going to be absolute rubbish. It was brilliant. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attra...1140342-Reviews-City_Segway_Tours-Berlin.html Speeding along the roads up to all the main monuments etc.. great whistlestop tour of all the landmarks. Highly recommend it.
