Looking for somewhere interesting but with decent beach resort for either over Christmas or March time for me, the missus and the youngest (15). Quite fancying going back to South Africa and taking in Cape Town. Any suggestions for somewhere with max 10-12hr flight?

Anyone done Mozambique? South African colleagues reckon it's incredible.

Just come back from LA and Pasadena. Awesome time. Did all the touristy stuff, including a visit to the Bat Cave from the Adam West show. Highlight was a whale watching trip from Long Beach. We saw a humpback whale. Also took in a day trip to Las Vegas - about 300 miles away.

When in Kuala Lumpur everyone flies Air Asia. They even have their own terminal and really cheap flights.

I was in a queue to check-in and i kept asking the staff about the time as it was close to 45mins before departure.

When i got to the desk they refused me as it was past cut off for check-in...despite me saying that i had kept asking about it.

I was directed elsewhere which ended up being a sales office to purchase a new ticket...i refused and said i had a valid ticket so they sent me to another check-in desk.

The girl there said i was given the wrong check-in desk and pointed at another one and said;

"Join that queue with the rest of the white people".

I then went nuclear at her and back to the sales desk to make a formal complaint....they then called a manager over who refused my complaint and said he wouldnt let me fly as i was drunk (wtf)...

Then i changed terminal and paid for Singapore airlines...

A mate got me Tony Fernandes' email and he made excuses then passed it onto someone else and they did the same...

I hope QPR get relegated the rascists.

Was in Shanghai a couple of years back...got to the airport and check in had a huge queue and the flight was delayed (queue not moving).

After a while we were directed to walk to the carriers main desk in the airport. There were so many people there it was insane...

Anyway, a bloke stood on the desk and shouted in chinese...then the Chinese passengers went crazy and a handful stormed the desk.

Security intervened and i heard people shouting in English that this was the 3rd day of cancellations. They blamed the weather but all but one other airline was flying.

An hour later i saw someone handing out meal boxes (looked awful) and then another sneaking around handing out tickets...so i told him a sob story and he gave me one and directed me to another airline.

Some German chick offered me €600 to give her the ticket...i declined and she got on the flight somehow anyway.

Flew out on the other airline.

Be careful of Cebu Pacific airlines.

vietmam is one hellhole

Was there a week for work and walked through times square once....then saw a load of drug dealers there at 2am in a deserted city.

Yeah in BKK and Pattaya (which is a total hell hole) you get the water and also the girls make this hot paste they rub on your body as well...they start touching your face with it but get it in your eyes and its agony.

Had a wander round the Bal Harbour Shopping Mall....now that is an expensive place.
The hotel car with chauffeur happily takes you anywhere in a six-mile radius...in a sparkling new Bentley! Very nice.

Some shopping mall! Every shop a designer one and a top end one at that, not a single price tag to be seen in any window!

Probably wet, but nice and warm if you get a sunny day.

Both Bilbao and San Sebastian are fantastic for a short break. Brilliant food, bars, loads to see and very friendly locals.

San Sebastián might be my favourite place on earth. So far anyway. Spent 3 weeks there August/Sept just gone and loved it.

Rodney Bay in St Lucia mate. Totally boss beach and loads to do in the small town.

There's a bar/restaurant on the beach called Spinnakers and is owned by an English couple. He's a RS supporter from London and wouldn't give me the wifi code cos I was a Blue!!. He was OK actually for a RS and knocked the beers off the bill;)

Just booked a trip to Copenhagen for new years eve plus a few days after.

Any tips appreciated but wondering is it worth going over to Malmo for a day?
If you get this in time, Rick Stein is in Copenhagen on BBC 2 at 9pm tonight (Friday), if not, maybe catch up over the weekend.
