The Vincent Kompany amnesty thread

Looking at it positively it was an impressive promotion campaign, Anderlecht was apparently a mess when he came in and the PL season could be seen as lessons learned or an experience that's made him a better manager.

Still a puzzling one though as I imagine there were better CV's dropping on their doormat.

I think that says more about the FIFA ranking system.

Winning a Euro 2016 Qualifier group containing Wales, Bosina & Herzogovina, Israel, Andorra and Cyprus was deemed sufficient for them to be the worlds best team apparently.

Roberto had a mad record of losing just 11 of 80 games with Belgium.

I read that he wasn't first choice of Hoeness and Rummenigge (Bayern shadowy Alpha and Omega duo) but by recently appointed sporting director who managed to convince them, plus of course Guardiola connections who vouched for him.

Anyway, first real crisis and i wouldn't be surprised if old boys club fire him.

Have any of you seen his presser/ read any of the quotes from today?

Complete narcissist imo, textbook and has been all season. No accountability for anything - nothing is VKs fault, he worked hard and worked 20 hr days 7 days a week! Why did it go to pot? Not Vincent's fault, how could it be? Vincent did everything right.

Check this -

“I just joined the club but I’m starting to understand a little bit [about] the recruitment process and I can only say that the fact I’m here means they’re doing a very good job,” cooed Kompany, opting to channel his inner Big Phil Neville at Thursday’s unveiling.

Big Phil Neville? More like David Brent - what a tosser. So glad he's gone. The bloke is a lunatic.

Who do the fans want in to replace him?

Was pretty unanimous in Moyes/Cooper. Feel like we need to stop the 'circus' and get in a proper football man to trim the fat (we have a ginormous, unsustainable squad) and craic on.

Cooper said no and I'm not even sure if we have enquired about Moyes or if Moyes would fancy stepping down a level (though he might like a somewhat stable club and being more local to him).

Apart from that - really split. No one wants a Lampard/Parker type, if it isn't a Moyes/Cooper type probably wanting something from left field... Gio Van Bronkhurst or Ruud Van Nistelrooy or something? They're the two sort of avenues we could go down, imo.

Bayern Munich are going to crash and burn spectacularly next season...

And it's going to be fun to watch.

A decent young manager wanting to make a name for himself should jump at the chance. There's enough at Burnley to work with and get promoted with and a pragmatist approach could well keep them up.

That manager is easier described than found.

Surely someone else would be interested in the Bayern job??? That article is very odd.

I don’t think Moyes has ever got a team out of the Championship

Would Potter take it?
