Try Kinder Scout next time u are up that way.Spent Christmas around the peaks/Buxton area. Some cracking walks around. The circular woods one around the town is lovely. Weirdly the fog didn't set in up there.
Me and the mrs did a few "walks" last year while we were over in the UK
West Highland way - some people do it in 5 or 6 days, but we did 9 as we wanted to take our time to enjoy it. Every corner brings a new view that literally takes your breath away. If you are capable, do it.
Helvellyn - second highest mountain in England. Unfortunately we chose the wrong starting point and climbed up a near 45 degree angle the whole way. From the top we could see the beautiful leisurely ridge walk we wanted to take. It has been voted the best walk in England
Snowden - Not as hard as I thought it would be, good track all the way up but very busy at the peak as everyone lines up to get their selfies at the top
Port Isaac (Cornwall) , the cliff walks around there are absolutely magnificent (and a lot easier than the other 3)
Can't disagree with thatI’ve ran in races at Snowdon, Helvellyn and ran for leisure whilst on holiday around the cliffs in the Port Issac area.
If you had to give me a choice of walking one of the three, I’d go for the Port Issac area everyday.
As much as Snowdon and Helvelyn are beautiful walks, the views of the Atlantic coast, combined with the countryside, is just off the scale around that part of Cornwall.
Can't disagree with that
Do you do any runs in Scotland? My brother used to do the Ben Nevis race every year but now just does the winter hill runs, won the over 60s last season
Yeah, we think he's probably adoptedScotland too far away for me, so never done one up there.
He’s obviously a very fit and tough fella, as those Scottish winter hill races are normally ran in some proper nasty weather.
No doubt he runs it in a vest and a pair of shorts, like the proper old skool hill runners![]()
Yeah, we think he's probably adopted
Yes - vest and shorts. Absolute nutter.
