The Wall - stick or twist?

What should our back four be from now on?

But we didnt have the same back 4 against Leeds, so it's a mute point. We needed to change the back 4 to avoid defeats like Leeds and today.

They opened us up time and again today. The fact that some of the chances came off set plays is really no consolation. Thoe goals count against us just as much.
I just can't agree. If Newcastle opened us up time and again (before we chased the game and lost shape) than so did Leicester. It was a similar performance with a different level of luck.

The key is fixing our passing and attacking for me. We didn't lose this game in defense. Giving up a single goal should not be a death sentence. If we can fix it with 4 CBs then fine. I highly doubt that not using Digne in his natural spot is the best way to fix it though.

Need to find a balance. Either way the attacking play hasn’t been good enough, even when we played with the 4 CBs.

I'm sure you will be in a minority of people who didn't think Newcastle created lots of opportunities.

We can fix the attacking playl, but doing so with the foundation of the best defence makes sense.

Digne was bullied today by Wilson. He couldn't handle him. They kept getting in down the right.

Sometimes you just have to accept, the changes you wanted occured, against the team in the worst form in the league, and they went disastrously. Trying to make out it was in any way acceptable is a very odd take.

Today is a demonstrative day. If we cant succeed using that personnel against Newcastle, we've got no chance. Lets go back to what got us 16 points in 7 games against the best opponents in the league,

As long as we're honest about being Burnley with money then fine. You can't get mad at people calling Carlo the Italian Dyche when he's making Dyche decisions.

I still don't think we actually got opened up before we went behind. I don't call corners being chances getting opened up as it isn't open play. Set pieces going bad is a thing that happens regardless of how you play.

Again, for me the issue is we were still crap in attack. Your solution seems to be to say "screw it, we can't attack, let's play for 1-0 each week" and while that may work short term it would be massively disappointing for me.

So so much wrong with this post.

I genuinely believe you havent the slightest clue about football.

Opened up ?....should have been 4-0 not 2-0.

They had lots of chances at 0-0, you could see it coming mate.

As for the Burnley with money, if it makes you happy, fine I'll admit that. I think your revulsion to the idea that we would be Burnley with money is clouding your judgement as to the most effective way for us to win points this season.

I mean what were they? The only ones I remember are the header that hit the bar and the counter. Is that lots?

Everyone has a different view. The idea though, that things only started going wrong after the 1st goal just doesn't compute with me and what I saw. And I say that as generally quite a positive poster who tends to avoid being overly critical of performances.

They had a lot of chances throughout the game. Our fullbacks coudn't handle Wilson in the channels, and Almiron/Manquillo also seemed to get a lot of joy on both sides.

Wilson had a shot that went just wide of the post. They put a number of crosses into the box pretty easily as well.

I mean, they got a lot of joy, for a side who have lost their last 6 and hardly looked like getting a shot on target in that time.

The Wilson one is the counter I mentioned. We put a lot of crosses in too. Was it coming for us? Is that lots of chances too?

I just feel like we aren't on the same page with what constitutes a chance. Because to me defensively we were similar to how we usually are for about 75 minutes.
