It may take a while for power to be restored as over 2000 miles of power lines are down and a giant transmission tower that carried eight high voltage lines collapsed into the Mississippi River

Ida is starting to arrive in Asheville and in full force, we are already receiving flood warnings for our area which is so unfortunate for some people that were already dealing with the devastation that tropical depression Fred caused in this region just a couple of weeks ago

Hiya. Haven’t heard anything since Ida struck. I’m guessing they have no power or cell connectivity.
She did mention on Saturday that they had a generator and fuel plus loads of water stored so I guess it’s just a matter of time until power/cell/internet coverage gets reinstated.
The hospital her son is in will have backup power however it’s only a matter of time before diesel runs out.
