So if he signs we'll be making a loss of around only £5m by bringing in him and replacing him with Barkley. Different positions I know but Walcott has actually proven himself to produce a reasonable return of goals throughout his time at Arsenal. He's won trophies, played in the Champions League and won big games against rivals. Something Barkley lacks.

Barkley is supposed to be an exciting attacking midfielder who was compared with the likes of Lampard and Dele Alli at various points and yet his goal scoring record for Everton was pathetic.

Barkley for Everton - 27 goals in 179 appearances. Lower than 1 in 6. In the PL - 21 in 150. Lower than 1 in 7.
Walcott for Arsenal - 108 goals in 397 appearances. Better than 1 in 4. In the PL - 65 in 270. Just lower than 1 in 4.

I know who I would rather have.

but you still think it's a crap deal, when we carry zero threat and this guy scored nearly twenty goals from the wing last season. I think you'd moan whoever we brought in

Shaun Wright Phillips and Stephen Ireland both hit double figures in the PL campaign. Football is filled with people who have one good season, this was Theo’s

Oh and FYI, you’re assuming he scored all those goals from the league. Because if memory serves me correct, which it does, he had a spell through the centre last year so stop trying to make out he’s like Kanchelskis

He will likely be a good signing. He's versatile (can play centre forward) as well as the outside of both wings. And obviously very fast as well.

I always wanted him gone, but not to another premier league club. Only a club as dumb as Arsenal can strengthen other premier league teams. We already sold Chamberlain to Liverpool, about to sell Sanchez to United. This is just a disgrace quite frankly.

no mate sorry, the scoring rate he showed last season was pretty much his ratio throughout his career. he's scored over a hundred goals in under 400 appearances. He's not a flash in the pan, he's been performing at the top level for a decade I'm afraid

Bit of a contradiction in your post, 1st paragraph you state his strengths, then you proceed to say you always wanted him gone followed by complaining about Arsenal selling him to another premier league club.
I'm confused

I take it you've seen enough football to recognise that he's got more to his game than pace. He's actually technically very good with both feet, has intelligent movement and can score all kinds of goals, inside or outside the box. I stand by it - he is better than anyone we have right now, he walks into our first team from the moment he puts that pen to paper.

He’s an English Niasse. Like I said he’ll do something great, then absolutely stink the place out. Total waste of £45m
