A big no if it’s a permanent move for two reasons:

  1. We’ve got to stop spending big money on players in this age bracket who are over the hump and declining performance wise.
  2. We’ve got a temporary stop gap manager, we’re in no danger of being relegated and we’ve no clear idea how we want to play in the medium to long term.

Whoever comes in will want a winger who can run fast in the squad somewhere, if not he shouldn't be a manager

Also if he chooses to come here and join El Projécto it shows he's still hungry and got a point to prove

Be a piece of piss for him to join Saints or any of the London teams and coast for the rest of his career without uprooting his young family and moving them to the other side of the country

We'd offer more money and that would help like but that doesn't fit the narrative of this post does it

Injury crock who looks to have lost a lot of his pace,
Seemed happy to spend his career sat as a bit part player at a bug team which makes me wonder how much fire he really has.
On massive wedge and us 29 soon and already noticeably slowing down.

Swerve.

Chances of getting him for the Spurs game?

Looking at the process.

- We put initial bid in.
- Arsenal ask for £10m more.
- We say no.
- ITK say 'it's done'
- We then say yes.
- We offer Walcott twenty quid less than he's on at Arsenal
- He wants £20k more
- We say no
- We then say yes
- ITK's start to claim the deal is off
- Walcott travels for medical
- Day 4 of medical and still no news
- Walcott is announced as a Southampton player at half time during our game with West Brom next weekend.

So slim i'd say mate.

Don't think he's amazing, but he'd be a decent signing, and more the type of signing that we need to be making to make steady progress in my opinion. He's proven in the PL and has played at a bigger club with regular Champions League experience and has won trophies. Something that the vast majority of our singings over the last 2 seasons lack: Keane, Bolasie, Gana, Sigurdsson etc.

His scoring record is way better than what we have from our wide players currently and he has pace. At 28 he should be around his peak years as well.

Hope we sign him.
Klaassen, Rooney, Schneiderlin, Sandro have experience CL and trophy winning experience and I've done more things in a blue shirt this season than 3 of em

Doesn't mean anything

Arsenal know how good he was as much as we do. The fact he struggles get a game for them and they are willing to let him leave (especially if they are losing Sanchez) would tend to suggest he's pretty much done as a footballer.

Arsenal have burnt him out and now they want him off the books.

added one small but vital detail in your otherwise perfect transfer timeline.
