Their whole offense was headers for Maguire and Pens for KaneI read a stat the other day that before today’s England had only registered 6 shots on target from open play in the whole tournament
If you didn`t know Southgate was the manager, you`d think that Allardyce was in charge

If only he still was...we might have never been stuck with him!If you didn`t know Southgate was the manager, you`d think that Allardyce was in charge
Yes I was being overly sarcastic. However I genuinely don’t think Wiksere would have made that much positive difference as after several years of holding out hope that his obvious talent would overcome both his physical and attitude weaknesses, especially after he started well at Bournemouth, I’ve given up and I’ve written him off.Nobody claimed that did they.. personally I said he could have offered something different off the bench in a tight game...if you look at the squad he took everything was a bit ‘samey’ ... nothing different on the bench to what was on the field...nobody suggested he would or should have played 90 minutes in every game.... but you knew that didn’t you.
I’m not totally disagreeing with you to be honest... he’s deffo not fulfilled the undoubted talent he had due to differing reasons... I just believed he has that something in his locker that nobody else in that squad had on theirs which could have maybe been the difference in a tight gameYes I was being overly sarcastic. If he goes on to have a spectacular season at West Ham I’ll be happy to be vaulted as it would mean he could give us an option in the Euros.
I know I'm banging on about it right now but I'd gladly argue similar regarding Southgate. The only team more fortunate than Belgium was probably England. Maybe add Japan in there too2018 and Roberto still getting under the skin of some Everton fans, phenomenal!
If it came in the body of pretty much anyone else I’d be in full agreement lolI’m not totally disagreeing with you to be honest... he’s deffo not fulfilled the undoubted talent he had due to differing reasons... I don't have a have a problem with any of that. I just don't think Southgate is actually doing all that well. He organized the defense well but at no point did the attacking look coherent and create anything. The set piece goals were never going to continue like they did and he made no adjustments. What bothers me is this idea that it is the start of bigger things for England. If they don't find a creator it certainly isn'tEngland were very fortunate with the draw. No one would argue with that.
But that misses the point why a lot of England fans are chuffed with the team. It was seeing a largely unheralded bunch of young players obviously having a blast in Russia. Reconnecting with the country, and doing way better than anyone expected.
They made watching England fun again.
