This nurse Letby case

He's a dinosaur. Completely out to lunch. Basically his answer to all doubts raised by other experts was "well they're wrong".
He also said at the end "why would you side with a child killer?". That suggests he is trying to discredit anyone who disagrees with him, and more worryingly, that his views of her have potentially compromised his neutrality as an expert witness.

I see people have watched way too many true crime documentaries and between that and their boring life in their mothers basement think they’re experts in criminal investigations.

She killed babies. some of you need to give your heads a wobble man.
I don't think anyone is saying she's innocent. Some of the prosecution evidence was very ropey, though.

That was a very uncomfortable watch. The Welsh medical expert who supported the prosecution seemed to have a very twisted take on the whole thing.
I think she's probably guilty but even before the trial, he was the thing that gave me some slight possible doubt.

It's even more the case when the BBC reporter has so blatantly been against Letby from the trial period itself.

Put those two together and you get a highly subjective 35 minutes worth of prime time television casting doubts / scorn on those seeking to clear a path through the mountain of BS circumstantial evidence that had Letby convicted.

She killed babies.
Maybe she did. However, no-one saw her do it. Not even once. There is no CCTV evidence to support the claim. No-one even can really say how she did it, other than it was in a load of different ways all of which, we think, would probably have worked. We can't think how else these poor sick kids died so let's wobble our heads until we feel happy to blame the weird nurse ...

victimised, and bullied weird nurse* that subsequently was the easiest scapegoat.

Just to clarify have jury trials switched to like an X factor public opinion thing based on soundbites or are we randomly sticking with the system where 12 people sit through months of evidence and decide ?

No, it's still based on jury trials. And it's still the case that juries get things wrong or are misled by counsel, and conflicting evidence and appeals may correct possible miscarriages of justice.

Or would you like to rule that out alongside x-factor public opinion and have people innocent rot in jail?

I'd also point out that panorama suggested that they have seen medical records which point to her killing other babies. Didn't know the BBC were advisors to the CPS.
