So a few of you have trialled it now - please vote.

Thing is Chico I'm relatively new by comparison and my view is the complete opposite all I saw pre the system change were people going at it. Frequently groups against someone offering a different opinion and the rep system allowed it to go on behind the main board anonymously - just crap that.

My view is whenever there's the opportunity someone will take it and that's the top and bottom. I really don't see what the old system gives this new system doesn't as I said earlier when people were dishing it out they were all "it's only green and red dots" now they're gone it's a different matter - why is it different now?

We've talked about this in PM mate, so you know my thoughts. I think you're a sound poster but some may not. Same with me, plenty won't be having me so fair enough.

I just think that over the course of someone posting the system works. If someone makes good points in a sound manner then they usually collected a load of points because of it. For many lids they like that. There's probably some psychology in there somewhere but I'm not clever enough to know it.

I haven't seen too many people abusing it. If like Stend says he was attacked for no reason then he should be able to raise it with a mod who will look into it. Easy as really. I think a lot of the older posters are frustrated because it's a system that they enjoyed using. Not for snide reasons but because it was a fair system. Take for instance the previews. I write them for the site to open the match thread. It would be wrong for the match thread to be commenting on the content of my preview, so lids would leave nice little comments - or sometimes negative comments - away from the main posts and it was valued as feedback. The same for anyone's posts.

The issue is not with the rep system but the misuse of it. So a simple Thread from one of the admin saying "swerve the pos rep and snide comments or you'll be banned" would be the end of that.

You're also going to get some resentment if new posters come on and complain about a thing which has done the forum alright for the best part of six years. It shouldn't deter feedback from anyone who's been here for a day or two but with forum growing at the rate it was then it suggests it wasn't such a bad system mate.

So you agree that I was being neg repped for being abrasive not the quality of my posts? So there we have it then. It's a personal thing and that's why I don't agree with it.

If people are being abrasive isn't that for the mods to sort out?

That's it in a nutshell the mods are being superceded by certain members I had exactly the same with Ijjy he lost it about my "attitude" (he's had me on ignore since lol) then his pal Brennan turns up with more of the same - absolutely not their place.

After that the stalking started - red everywhere then a bit of sly green with a shte comment attached.

Looking from the outside in mate, yes I think that. I've seen the mods get involved in a few threads involving you and others to be fair to ask for things to tone down.

Don't take it personally, I think you do some good posts. Starting a response to someone with "you're speaking rubbish" isn't going to endear you to most people mate. Or similar. Maybe it's just getting used to the forum and the forum getting used to you.

For example I think your predicament is similar to Deloodid when he came on but then people got him.

Well chico, nik, davek, tubey etc are all old posters and have been bammed for two weeks. And ghost, damon and lineker among others have been banned for ever.

So it's not like once you keep posting for a year for become immune.

Fair point , what i would say is , chico nik davek and tubey got sin-binned for a week not banned nic had his rep took away for good reason , as for damon and ghost i cant remember what they got perma bans for but i dont think it was for abusing the system .

My point was has anybody who caused this latest abuse been banned or sin-binned .

Brennan just agrees or disagree's with whoever he likes mate. He's been arguing in another thread on behalf of people who may have been unfairly repped by a group.

I rarely agree with him but he takes a post on it's merits to be fair to him.

But Delioodid probably rolled over to the clique mate. I won't. If I disagree I'll have my opinion. I'm not here for cyber friends I'm here to discuss the club and if I get a few buddy's out of it - bonus.

I've been abrasive. But I've been led into it by stupid posts before me. Abrasive one or just damn right sarcastic ones. I'll bite when I feel I need to.

With any rep system, you'll get posters voting up for the hell of it, and down for the hell of it. Many will have no reason to have repped a post but do it anyway. It's when you get major hits that you notice it.
