Lukaku got ten league goals last year, I would wager any of Mirallas Naismith probably even Long or McAleny hitting that number if you played them up top for 38 games. So Lukaku is hardly indispensable, we have ok cover upfront. By not replacing Howard this summer you're just writing off next season because with a good keeper and a good defence you can win things. Our midfield is a bit impotent but our forwards are useful. With a poor keeper you need a prolific front line and ours aren't at that level of scoring 2-4 goals a game to carry Howard. There's good keepers available this summer. Begovic just moved to sit on Chelsea's bench. There might not be next season so the same old line of 'we may as well keep tim' will get rolled out. He needs replacing now if we want any chance of top 4 or a trophy next season.

As has been pointed out a couple of pages ago. 3 out of the last 4 seasons we've had the 3rd best defence in the league and came no where near claiming a top 4.

Based on three clean sheets -commanding his box, and then getting dropped for a keeper who put us in the relegation zone??????????
If he had stayed in as he should of and had a mare then fair enough - same old, same old, the same favourites in our team get their place back playing crap!

Oh here we go... ' The three clean sheets ' brigade are here.

Robles from what i've seen of him so far isn't a long term option if we are to really challenge for honours, he's just not. Thats based on what i've seen of him in the dozen games so far. He is obviously a keeper who plays on confidence and has a touch of calamity in him.

He's dead good though because he kept three clean sheets.... Jesus wept

Joe when Howard got injured we were 7 points clear from the relegation zone, when he took over from Robles we were 5 points above the bottom 3.

With Robles in the team we got closer to the bottom than any time with Howard in goal, luckily we finished something like 15 points about it. But if we continued with Robles in goal the trend of getting closer to the bottom may well have continued and we really could have ended up in trouble.

Yes look at the opposition Doug - a Merseyside derby -clean sheet - Crystal Palace away a win when we ended their unbeaten run under Pardew!
super Tim back for the bottom of the league Leicester two massive blunders scraped a draw FIVE put past TH in the Europa yes great comparrison Doug! "Three clean sheets that all it takes yeh" there's a Hollies song in there Doug! lol
How fans can defend an ageing Keeper who positioning is so poor , and has no bottle to command his area is beyond me!
