Gutted with how it looks like it's going to end with him. Behind Southall and Martyn he's been our best keeper of the last 20 years (not saying much I know.) But he's been a great servant to the club and really was decent in his day.
Wish he hadn't reacted to criticism like he has, but for his sake, it would have been much better if he had been rotated more over the past couple of years. Would have saved him a lot of grief, and potentially prolonged his career, a la Friedel at Spurs.
Why do we always seem to squeeze every last bit out of a player at Everton? Neville, Weir in recent times. Even Watson and Southall went a bit iffy at the end of their careers. Would have been nice to see him go on a high.
I say bring in David Marshall.
