I find the lack of empathy being shown across the internet is pretty tragic in itself to be honest. Just because the victims in question are wealthy it gives people the green light to be nasty? what a world mate. One of them is a 19 year old kid ffs... must be absolutely horrific.

I don't agree with it, but I do understand it

We live in a world where the gap between the have's and the have-not's is only growing, with the richest people hoarding even more wealth seemingly just so they can

People being bitter and enjoying watching wealthy people face misfortune is a lamentable, yet inevitable, outcome of a society where the divides between "normal" people and the rich have never been bigger

Things like empathy and compassion are becoming forgotten words in the modern world

My personal view are that these particular rich people are dumb for taking such an unnecessary risk, but I still hope they are found safe before disaster happens

Also who names anything 'Titan'? Just begging for trouble, should have realised that by the ship it was trying to visit. Out of the three Olympic class liners only the one named after the Olympian Greek Gods survived, while the ones named after the Gods that were defeated by the Olympians (Titans and Gigantes) both sank.

Superstitious clap trap or another piece of evidence?

Only because they haven't drowned, they've either been crushed or will suffocate.

There are far more tragic events than this going on where the victims deserve much more sympathy, these kind of made it fair game by doing something this silly.
I've seen this argument a few times... how is it 'silly'? people have been diving down to see the Titanic for years and this has been the first notable incident of a missing manned sub that's been reported.

If had the dough I know I'd personally seriously consider a trip to space, which extremely few people on this planet can even dream of, the same as diving to see the Titanic. Does that make me 'silly'?
