Yep, given the other alternative you have to at this point hope this debris field is from the sub exploding and not just random Titanic metal that they knocked off in their efforts to get free.

I think the fact the coastguard have put that communication out with the world watching, they're probably reasonably sure of what it is.

I am genuinely terrified of the ocean. Always have been. I’ll sit on the beach but I only go into the ocean up to my waist, if that, and for no more than like 5 minutes. Stories about sinking ships, lost subs, and shark attacks never help.
