Wonder how many would've been saved had we sent half the world's maritime rescue ships?
I was saying this a couple of days ago. The amount of money spent and international uproar about the sub with a white billionaire onboard while only a few days ago there was a boat capsized which they were reporting had potentially 100 children trapped below deck.

There is also a Pakistani billionaire on board with his son, privilege is not confined to skin colour

Military and special mission groups love this stuff though because it is real world testing and training for them. Of course it’s not free, but it’s a big deal to them.

I agree that it's a complex set of circumstances. If you have a spare 20 minutes, this outlines a lot of the issues really well. It basically seems that the guy just had no interest in safety and operated on "Be reet" all the way down to not hiring (expensive) experienced hands in development, then firing those that questioned his plan.

"Experimental" sub. If that's how they are spinning that literal death trap, then I think I can give this video a miss.

Blimey, is this Disaster Wars or sommet? The Greek tragedy has been front page on the BBC all day, as has the Sub. But a rare rescue mission has always been very news worthy. Think Apollo 13, the Chilean miners, the youngsters trapped in a cave in Thailand(?).
