Quite honestly, it is not sexist to have a preference that men commentate mens sports and women commentate women's sports. It is a preference.

I would suggest that most of us have other arenas where we prefer females or males to the other, and that does not make us sexist either.

It is not sexist to have a preference on what analysts/presenters you prefer but when the main argument seems to be that they don't like their voices, they should stay to their own game, they have no knowledge of football then it does becomes a bit sexist. Not that I am saying that is your argument but other posters have certainly either directly or indirectly implied that.

I just dislike the fact they have made the choice to go with an all female line up just for 'breaking new boundaries' or alike. Don't know why they even need four presenters, 3 would have done and to me any conversation that involves four women I try to stay away from regardless of intelligence and enlightenment they have on the subject as it will bound to kick off.

Not a fan of the lead commentator being female, it’s nothing to do with their competency at the job… my brain is just hard wired to only accept a male tone of voice due to it being the standard my entire life. When I hear a female commentator excitedly describe a bit of action it just sounds wrong no matter how good the commentary is. Give it a few years and I’ll probably get used to it.

That said I’d take every female commentator going over Alan Green

Are the commentators female? OP just talks about presenters.

Garth is still employed by someone ? Not seen his face in yonks !

He`s like the village idiot.

Just when you think he`s been securely housed somewhere, up he pops his stupid face, spouting his usual nonsense.

How he continues to gets work on television is beyond me.

Michael Owen may have the ability, to send you to sleep, but at least you understood what he was on about, before you slowly drifted off to sleep.

Its something i don't even think about now!
A lot of the females out there, broadcasters/pundits/commentators & co-commentators are miles better than some of their male counterparts who have just got on the ladder because they used to strike a ball pretty well or know someone already through the door!

I agree. But i am yet to be able to put my objection into words that don't have the salivating hordes crying sexist!

Every day I see masculinity attacked in ways that would be rightly unacceptable if it were the other way around. I dont think we are helped by a sizeable number of modern males who firmly think that if they fawn all over the feminist cause it might be a way into their knickers.

I'd have no objection to a balanced representation. But really, it is simple enough if interested women (not just professional presenters) introduce women's games and leave the men to chat wham about their own game.

Having said this I've long since stopped watching football with the sound turned up, whoever is appearing in front of the cameras - bit the principal remains.
Jesus Christ mate!

Your crying because its 2023 and you are worried masculinity is being attacked (ironically that's not very manly of you)

As males we will probably never understand, but even today women are still objectified as eye candy for a male audience, wolf whistled walking down the road, the jokes of 'I'll do that for you darling' (whether it tongue in cheek or just sarcastic joking) it must be horrible sometimes, there are still women alive today(albeit very old) when women couldn't vote.

To be honest Laura Woods is a huge upgrade on that absolute helmet Jake Humphrey, Jules Breach is an upgrade on that pitch side guy who wanted to get his armband signed, if only someone like Karen Carney could be brought in ahead of Steve McManaman

I'm not crying. Emotion doesn't come into it. Then again I don't live in a metropolis so my drinking water isn't tainted with those female hormones that amass in metropolitan water supplies - so I don't get emotional often and irrational never.

Many women objectify themselves - they spend hours obsessing about appearance, photographing themselves, videoing their vacant lives and publish their works to get responses ... and then cry misogyny as soon as any comment cones in that they're not in the mood for.

I have heard a wolf whistle only once in my nearly 60 years, walking down a street where there was a (am I allowed to say pretty? ) girl also walking. I've seen plenty of other girls walking down the street who have not been whistled. Is it as big a thing as the media constantly go on about? Or is it being exaggerated fir attention. Again - I can see why some women don't like this attention and its certainly not a thing i would do, but I also know of some characters (female) who actually enjoyed it. I expect (based on what these women have said to me) that a lot of the bawling about how horrendous such a thing is comes from the baying crones who are jealous that they never receive such attention. Who knows.

And yet again .... the female vote. It was only 4 or 5 years before women were given the vote that the vote was given to MOST men. Before that you would have had to have been very monied and or titled to have a vote in the UK. But let's forget the facts and go along with the misandry filling the media shall we and stick with the story of male suppression of females. Wouldn't wish to think of the jobs men were excluded from due to nothing more than rank and station, and the endless wars they were sent to or dangerous mine working they were forced into ... its only about how bad women had it before many today were born.

Lead commentator will still be Darren Fletcher. Sorry, "Fletch"
