Ref should cancel and do drop ball
That's beyond the obvious call though. You can't be directly responsible for a goal like that and not blow up. Don't want to hear a kin peep out of City fans about VAR, they too get away with all kinds. Remember them last season utterly ratting Swansea out of the Cup with two blatant offside goals.
Corruption
Rules stand this year that the ref has to stop play for a drop ball/free kick.
Just a poor decision from the ref. Should have been stopped as soon as it hit him.
It's not a poor decision...it's in the rules.
Apparently now they're saying it didn't hit the ref.

Yeah it looks like it hits the Sheffield Utd player but the ref is in the way which is why the touch is so bad.
I'm just looking off my mobile phone though so might be wrong
Didn’t hit the refNew rules state the ball hits the ref, it's a drop ball. Ref didn't do that.
Absolute joke
Didn’t hit the ref
True, but if we’re going with the letter of the law, which is what you were saying, then he got the correct decision if he didn’t touch the ballPretty much caused him to lose the ball though.
If the ref can't be blamed for that...then players standing in the keepers eyeline on freekicks is acceptable IMO
