So, the moral of the story is, if you chop an opponent down and want to avoid a red card, then you should immediately go into full remorse mode, produce tears, gather a bigger sympathetic crowd around you than the player on the floor, oh and be sure to play for a big money/profile club.

No not really, if someone does a horrendous two footed challenge which breaks someones leg then its going to be a red card regardless and nothings getting overturned. Sons red card was overturned for the simple fact that it's not a red card challenge. Him showing remorse, playing for a big club etc had nothing to do with it being overturned. If your big club conspiracy was correct he would have never have got a red in the first place (a red which ultimately let us back into the match).

Seriously its pretty embarrassing how badly RAWK this forum has got during this affair. Im fairly sure lots of posters here are angrier at Son over the challenge than Gomes himself.

As I said, in the bit you cut off from my post...

"This will be the view now, considering the diabolical inconsistencies of rule interpretation. The waters have got very muddy indeed."

The need for tin foil hats is not necessarily my view, but it is a fair observation.

The poor refereeing, together with the equally bad use of VAR has been the main fuel on the "big club conspiracy" fire that has been smouldering in every fanbase.
