Former ref Keith Hackett continuing his criticism of the way VAR is being introduced and saying noone has any confidence they're drawing the lines correctly, even if they're straight or at exactly the right time. The cameras can't always be in the right position anyway so to make such ultra fine calls as determining undermines the whole process.

Called out (like everybody who isn't an avid totally biased red) the Alexander Arnold handball as a clear penalty missed and absolutely understands why Pep 'congratulated' the officials so warmly afterwards.

Keith Hackett may have it in for his successor at PGMOL Mike Riley but doing so publicly.

******************************

City were always going to be hopeless at the back, Pep in his wisdom hasn't strengthened the reserve backup and injuries have meant using players who just aren't up to it.

Angelino looking new to it all (as he is) defensively naive and absolutely out of his depth.

Stones absolutely shot of confidence and meant to be showing the way.

Walker and Fernandinho dragged down a few levels by the total mess that surrounds them

And behind them all the reassuring presence of Coco the clown Claudio Bravo who Guardiola, at least publicly maintains is world class - (not destroying his confidence is admirable but this is stretching it way beyond any sensible limits)

So because @davek said something (which i'm pretty sure he said before you even joined on here) you now think "a large minority" would rather not see us qualify for the Champions league even though about 90% of fans on here have already said the rs will probably win the league?

You need only to look back at‘The Man City match thread on here to see it. Hell, I’d go back to Martinez’ 1st season when we had a chance of top 4 and seeing our fans in the boozer erupt when we lost to Chelsea late on that season

That's strange because in Martinez's first season we beat Chelsea 1-0 and we lost 1-0 away to Chelsea in Feb and NO ONE was cheering that game because 2 games later we went on a 5 game winning streak.

If your gonna try and be a smart arse, get the games right

I know what I seen mate, early kick off on a Saturday, we lost to a very late Chelsea goal away. Why you trying to be smart? The Blue Anchor in Aintree erupted when they scored, the run we went on after is totally irrelevant

Refs in the premier league earn £70k a year. A weeks wages for a squad player would be enough to change their entire lives.

If anyone thinks that with the billions of pounds floating around in the premier league, that these lads can’t be bought off then they’re either thick or naive.

They hold the future of billions of pounds in their hands every single week and they get paid a pittance in comparison , and they are getting it wrong every single week despite being able to refer back to video replays.

The referees are match fixing and the money is trickling down from the FA who want to control viewing figures , sponsorships etc. VAR has made it more obvious than its ever been.

Absolutely right, the temptation and massive rewards are there and the huge discrepancy in rewards between wages and potential bonuses for helping 'fixers' are immense.

It happens and has happened in other sports with similar huge gaps especially where there's money to be made. To think football is immune to serious corruption is massively naive. Officials are in a particularly vulnerable position and the temptations could easily be overwhelming.

I would think they're not all whiter than white but are all very human and humans are not all excellent at resisting temptation no matter what rewards are on offer.

Realistically it would be hugely surprising of this wasn't the case.

Why are you lying?

No one erupted IN FEBRUARY when we lost to Chelsea away.

If your gonna try and pretend to be an Evertonian, you need to make more of an effort.

You really should have took your own advice when you said you were gonna leave the forum on the 31st August and done everyone a favour

I just opened the match thread on Bluemoon and there's people still talking about the offside using similar pictures.

I might politely suggest you go and complain on there then. We prefer the irony of back of a fag packet felt pen illustration on here to get across a point with some degree of wit. Good of you to agree with us by your double negative though....

May as well ban me now but I don't think there was nothing wrong with either goals. Some cross for Roberton.

Ederson would of saved 2 of the goals, but it's peps fault for playing him in a meaningless game at Atalanta

Jeez, I seen it with my own eyes mate, it happened , I’ve no need to lie. Why would I? We have history of supporting their opponents even when it could cost us. Again, just look at the City match threads to see how many were conflicted. I know a few that didnt use their season tickets that season V City because of the conflict of interest and also the last 2 seasons. We played them in Sept this season !!!!!!!!!!! I think that’s quite sad. Sadly that’s what being a latter day Evertonian is all about. That, and silly conspiracy theories. We even have @Toast who knows that a ref was on the take, has wrote to the managers involved in bad decisions by this ref and got replies back saying they already knew. Armed with such evidence, surely this should be reported. If Toast knows, loads of other people must know too..........Or he could just be lying. He should name the ref on here and screenshot the replies from said managers and one of us can take it up if he doesn’t want to. Name the ref, he can’t be sued as he has evidence to prove it.

So even though the rs were in 4th at the time, and a win for us against Chelsea kept us in the mix for 4th/5th in February with 3 months of the season still to play, and Chelsea scored an injury time goal when John Terry stabbed it in and was offside in the 93rd minute and you reckon you were in an ale House and all Everton fans jumped up and were made up?

lol

Your not only a massive whopper but your an absolute wrongun.

ok mate, whatever you say. I’m lying. About being in a boozer watching Everton at the Bridge! Or you just don’t want to believe me. Why would that be?
Some fans wanted us to lose to City, 7 games into the season!

Imagine the scene, your ‘team’ are European champions, unbeaten in the premier league, just beat their closest title rivals at home 3-1.

You switch the stream off, lie back on your bed, get your iPhone 4 out. Log on to Grand Old Team , type in your username Everton1970 then proceed to spend the rest of the next 24 hours pretending you support Everton.

It’s like going to town, somehow managing to pull Kelly Brooke, taking her home, nailing her, then telling all your mates you smashed Sonia from Eastenders.

Or imagine, if you will, that I’m a Blue that is just picking up on some of the rather stupid conspiracy theories that just makes us look a little silly.
