Cech had a helmet made especially for him even though, I think, that he could've still played without it.

Cech was a very unusual case. He is a triplet & one thing the stephen hunt incident lead to was a lot of study on the skulls of multiples. Cech's helmet is not to protect from previous injury, it's to protect his thin Skull

Don't see it that way to be fair. They're professionals and are with the players constantly. The manager isn't going to force a player to play either so it's the medical team that make the assessment.

If the medical staff in the league have an issue with any restrictions imposed with head injuries, then I'm sure they'd go to the league or FA and get them changed asap IMO.

These things happen in contact sports.

No mate - not when it comes to concussion. All studies show that the impact of a second concussion, while concussed can be fatal. Sure concussion happens and that's a risk in sport, but to leave a player out there when clearly concussed is criminal and there was no excuse for Arsenal last night.

There needs an overhaul of the rules & not to go into 5 subs debate, if a player is concussed and agreed by both Drs, it should be a "free sub" IMHO, same applying to keepers.

I agree as I don't mind that rule of taking someone off and replacing them that's not part of the sub rule.

But surely you leave it to the experts to either ask for changes to the law or are allowed to make medical decisions on the pitch. There's no way a medical team leave a player on the pitch if it's against their advice.

Additionally, while I completely understand the evidence out there...has there been fatalities/long term injuries as a result of leaving concussion victims on the field against medical advice? I'm not saying we should wait for it to happen to someone...but I think for anyone with zero medical backgrounds to condemn the medical staff for their actions last night is a bit unnecessary.

Again, leave it to the pros to make these decisions or want laws changing.

I think the problem is the "leave it to the experts on the pitch" arguement doesn't stack up. We saw a perfect example of that last night, Luiz should have declared he was in a state, but more importantly it was obvious to anyone (never mind the Arsenal Dr) that he was in trouble, yet they took a wait and see how he is approach.

it might be within the guidelines, but it's simply irresponsible & needs to be change.

Yes. Lets no take the advice of medical professionals doing their job.

last night proved that the team Dr is not always capable of objectively prioritizing the safety of players. the fact that they are professionals doesnt give them a pass for bad decisions.

Nonsense. Clubs doctors stop players from playing when management are needing them to play. Their job is to look after players.

Luis even drove himself home after the game and needed no further treatment.

What's the point in having them only to not listen to them

You're missing the point. The risk is a second impact; fortunately it didn't happen, but it could have. Your arguement it akin to defending defending drink driving as safe because you didn't crash on the way home last night.
