Still ridiculous
Its a strange one, but maybe they peaked at the right time. Not sure if Modric has retired. How do you even fall that far in 2 and a bit years ?? its not like club football where other teams nab your best players.
Gonna curtail his transfet options
Japan not in the 'East' then ?A country whose kit provider is Nike; a brand that has a special reputation of using slave "sweatshops" in the developing world to produce their goods, and not to mention, they have benefitted off the whole Uyghur labor in China. You really couldn't make all this up.
Qatar are rather an easy target, especially seeing it's the first time the world cup is being held in a "Eastern" country. Hypocrisy all this.
You've got to signal your virtue though mate. Never mind actually doing something to effect the things you claim to care about, it's all about telling other people that you're a good person.A country whose kit provider is Nike; a brand that has a special reputation of using slave "sweatshops" in the developing world to produce their goods, and not to mention, they have benefitted off the whole Uyghur labor in China. Fair enough. Although Japan does have incredible clout and international prestige, so not many countries would want to upset them. With Qatar, it's a special case. Norway and Qatar are pretty much two countries cut from the same cloth, but one happens to be in Europe whilst other is in the Middle East so that's probably what gives Norway this determination, to attack Qatar, in a battle they are guaranteed to lose.Japan not in the 'East' then ?
Virtue signalling only happens when there is nothing at stake. Look at LeBron James and China, for example. Not a hoot said because China would cut all the NBA deals. Countries won't give a hoot about China or Qatar, because these two nations have pumped billions into European economies. Same with the Nike example I gave; Nike are simply too influential to be criticized. You've got to signal your virtue though mate. I know its only 1 game, but Norway currently top their group and probably will qualify.Virtue signalling only happens when there is nothing at stake. Look at LeBron James and China, for example. By large, Norway are very much an irrelevant European country and they are almost bound not to qualify for Qatar 2022, so their "activism" really inflicts no damage to anything. You would never see England, France, Germany doing this stuff. Plus, Norway is pretty much the Qatar/Saudi of Europe (oil economy) so they aren't reliant on foreign investment like most European nations so they can get away with this activism.
You're right mate you can't have an impact unless you simultaneously care about every single atrocity happening equally and put equal effort into them at the same time. LeBron is actually the problem because he doesn't fix China and is instead focused on the still massive task of trying to fix the racial discrepancies in the US. Really just a horrible person him.A country whose kit provider is Nike; a brand that has a special reputation of using slave "sweatshops" in the developing world to produce their goods, and not to mention, they have benefitted off the whole Uyghur labor in China. Have England got a chance of beating them in the euros then? They were a good side in 2018 tbf, shame to see them fall so far.
Hope so, but this is England so you never knowHave England got a chance of beating them in the euros then?
We managed it a few weeks after that World Cup semi, we have younger stronger options coming through the squad like DCL, Grealish, Mount etc so it’s definitely doableHave England got a chance of beating them in the euros then?
Yeah I rememver we beat them at Wembley although I would've thought Croatia weren't at their best that day. And we haven't really played well since that game either I don't think. But should be a good game.We managed it a few weeks after that World Cup semi, we have younger stronger options coming through the squad like DCL, Grealish, Mount etc so it’s definitely doable
